This forum is definitely not to get back at members or actors but meant for honest opinion about the story and characterization. We are here to interact and get to know each other. It pains me to see that the debate is deviating and attacking at personal level. Every individual might have his or her opinion about the forum, we may agree or disagree so if we stick to the subject of debate I think it should be more welcoming, instead of trying to prove somebody else wrong or right. Apologies or explanations regarding the same should also be accepted in good spirit.

Regarding characterization of Santo, well I know Ekta's tendency of glorifying her female protagonist over her male ones. No problem but it should be believable and somehow I could not digest that a self made man like DM sitting at home and while his wife is running about and giving solutions. Yes she can, also DM should have his own solution and then let us see whose is more logical and better....

i think i can see tintiny's point too. really, are not some of the other guys around also diamond polishers? is there only nanaji and no one else? really, someone as successful as dm would make sure there was back up. and if he depended on nanaji so much, would have made sure he's hale and hearty with a comfortable heated house and a doctor on call. for a star employee, nanji is really badly rewarded for his efforts, which is so unrealistic.
as far as santu is concerned, love her. yes, she is a bt heroine - and haven't we all suffered with them - but a new, improved one. she's been shown to falter a lot of times, too. if they want to show her capable and intelligent, they should be careful not to do it at the expense of the other heroes of the story.
as it is, a lot of the ladies are watchin it for rr. dm has to rule.

i did seemed as though he was trying to find a soluation but he was thinking too deep and emotional about it, also he had other things on his mind so; it can easly slep out. he had his first wife help at first to set up his villige, he didnt do it by himself. i know what you are trying to say i NEVER been a big fun of Ekta's female protagonist because she takes it toooo far i.e Tulsi (i really hope she dosen't turn her into one of those). i am not critisazing you or trying to prove you wrong because i am on the same boat as you about all of her female leads. Santu is the first female caracter that i actualy like and able to tolarate. i dont feel she did it by her-self she just came with the idea and everyone else took over.
😊 your coment is alwayes weclome, healthy disrigiment is what we need, if everyone agreed on one thing it will be very boring.

When Santu took off from home she did not go with the intention of solving the problem. She went to give support and encouragement to Hiten. The solution to the gas problem and the broken diamonds came to her due to her observations and the hands on work she was doing.
I was wondering (and many others were too) as to how DM himself could not come up with this solution. That was explained in Wednesday's episode. That the terms of the international contract were for one big sample with a single big diamond. That is why he was not going for the 2 sample solution. DM went along with her because she confronted him and made his realise he was shying away from his duties and responsibilities. That Hiten was ready to try to fix his mistake but he was all alone and needed help and support.
About female protagonists being the know-all and do-all, I think that it is a common scenario in almost all serials irrespective of the fact whether they are a BT production or not.

Well you are right that female are highlighted in soaps but then that is why this point is being raised that we want to see a balanced scenario, something logical and justifiable...after all god created man and woman to compliment each other but not to outdo each other....

Anyway a good story is what I want to see...

True. And that is why I said that Santu had no intention to outdo anyone - either Hiten or DM. If that were the case she would have decided not to cause any more stress to DM as he was already under so much pressure and tension and sat down to 'taraashofy' the diamond herself and been successful. That would have been unbelievalble.
Here she goes to him with her thought process and with his help and support they succeed. It was a win-win situation for all - Santu, DM, Hiten, Nanaji and the village folk. And the good part is that due credit was given to everyone for the part they played in it.

Had this been any other BT soap hema, it would have happened.. I'm glad that it dint here.. Santo knows her limitations, very clearly as a matter of fact..

Then DM is a typical BT Hero...he only arrived in the village with grains after Virat came, when his people were already starving, inspite of his assurances, the villagers wanted to leave the village anyway, and last but not the least when his wife was running about finding a solution he was sitting at home, doing hai hai....so much so for a self made man 😉
