You see, it has been behaving in the most erratic manner......(LaTa Meta-For-U) 😛
And if there's one thing a KUNJI doesn't need, it's an unreliable PUNJI.....!!!!!!
One that takes forrrreeeeevvver to preheat, then when things are looking up.....brrrrrrrrr......it turns itself off mid-baking.....than again......refuses to turn itself back on, or WORSE, just burns the food that's placed out in there.........
Oh, and I almost forgot the best part: mine is also an oven that chooses to not demonstrate any of the above symptoms when the Oven Doctor comes to examine it. Mischievous, no?*Deep Sigh*
But *brightening Up*.....for YOU my dear patrons....I shall brave my oven's capricious temperament.
Ahhhh the FLOURLess Poppy Seed Cake! Surprised?
Don't be.......If there can be Shows...movies.... serials without stories, why not cake without Flour!! 😉
If BT, Jai ho Ektaa Maai can make year after Year shows without concept & thought.....why can't others.
Mix Egg, Butter, Almond Butter & sugar....Shake-Fold-Bake &....say VIOLA...
At least I have flavored the cake with the zest of an orange & baked it in the heart-shaped pan but because the tip of the heart got a little too dark (see what I have to put up with?),
I whipped up a simple orange glaze to use as a concealer......quick thinking.....*hint hint Ektaa Maai*
Hmmmm the result is this marvelously aromatic cake, fine-crumbed and moist, its every bite sparking an explosion of poppy seeds beneath our teeth.
btw........having just received an estimate of what it would cost to fix the oven & found out that it is......surprise, surprise!!..... almost the price of a new oven!!!! *phew*
Some Patience you think??? Hmmm so you think....stick to PUNJI....er...my Oven....afterall old is INDEED gold!!!
On a happy note........I ALWAYS try to end it on happy note.....
