Mona-bashers 😡 , let's get one thing very clear---

I think you all seriously need to reappraise your ideas on masculinity and femininity. The great psychologist Carl Jung has said that there is a bit of femininity --the Anima---in every man and a bit of masculinity--the Animus-- in every woman. What and how much of it you manifest depends upon your personality, not your appearance. Moreover, on needs to have a bit of both, or one is not a balanced personality.

At the time when there is increased tilting of opinion towards "metrosexual" males, what's wrong if we have slightly imposing females?

Mona is well-built because she is Punjabi. her genes predispose her to be that way. But take a good look at the way she carries herself--there is the simplicity of the child and the elegance of the woman in her. She can carry off every outfit with decency and class. So it hardly matters if she is buxom and curvaceous (i mean it--she is downright sexy!!!) as long as she carries herself in a ladylike manner. I know of certain females (ahem!)who are delicate-looking but behave with histrionic immaturity in public. I don't call that ladylike!!!

Is it because Mona does not carry herself like the simpering, breathless Kekta heroines that she is not considered feminine enough?

As for Apu not being 'man' enough; well, if being effeminate means to be caring, modest, down-to-earth and patient (you bet he has to be patient!) then i'm all for effeminate men! No rugged, pompous, uncaring, "masculine" types please!
