Doordarshan's Nukkad, literally, had no competition. The Sayeed Mirza-Kundan Shah-directed show, which ran for two seasons, starting in 1986, was one of TV's most-loved. Here we take a look at what the stars of the series are doing now.
Raja is still a regular actor, but on the big screen now. His most recent roles were in Kismat Konnection and Khoya Khoya Chand. He is also a director and scriptwriter. Jodha Akbar is one of the films he has written.
Suresh Chatwal
Dhukhiya was one of the more endearing characters. He was quite popular, having featured in Munnabhai MBBS and Bhola In Bollywood. However, he hasn't done any work for the past 4 years.
Kader Bhai was arguably the most-loved character, and from the looks of his resume, the most respected in the industry as well. He has done over 150 films after the show and is working on some more now. His upcoming project is Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai and his last appearance was in Dhoonte Reh Jaoge.
Javed Khan

Khopdi, the drunk, acted well but his acting career pretty much faded after Nukkad. And though he has worked on a few shows since then, he hasn't been able to revive his career.
Rama Vij
Teacherji starred in the show Chunni and was also seen in films such as Hawayein and Prem Quidi. However, she seems to have retired, as she hasn't done anything since 2003.
Sangeeta Naik
Radha didn't get too far after the show. She now plays small roles in films such as Bhabhi and Sandwich.
Dlip Dhawal
