Dowry/Nikhil/Dev

I thought demanding dowry was illegal. Why was this not said by Sav, Saras, Lax - anyone?? This was the perfect opportunity to communicate this to the masses but was totally missed. They could have used the dowry idea & made something positive out of it - remind the poorest of the poor & the richest of the rich that this is illegal & demanding dowry has serious consequences...what a waste of an opportunity!

i knoe rite! its like a rich guy comes for the girls and then they get together and the guy disappears and so does all his property! y cant nikhil use his contacts n such to bring BC down! gosh!
even though i havent seen the epis i just read the updates, i have a feeling that if BC is a young guy then he may fall in love with gauri n he'll be like i'll give u guys everything back if she marries me!!! gosh this show needs to end!!!

I have to believe the Garodias live in some kind of lawless chaotic universe. There are so many illegal happenings over the course of this show that could have easily been resolved with a competent police force and a decent lawyer. This dowry thing is just one example.

Also, I know it is a hard truth that fair skin is still ideal in India, but I thought it was supposed to be less of an issue among rich and educated people. Not to mention that Gauri isn't even dark! Are they kidding me? Almost every Indian I know is at least as dark as her, if not darker. If they are going to make a big point out of color discrimination, they could at least use someone who is genuinely dark. Otherwise it makes them look like big fat hypocrites.

Also, who rejects a marriage proposal because a woman wears glasses? Are we to believe that THIS is why Gauri is so hard to marry off? Because of her glasses? Seriously? How bad are they trying to make Indians look? Not just bad but stupid and unbelievably vain.

No other goal except marraige .........the ultimate reality for a girl ...........is what the show is all about . Saraswati was burnt for the dowry but still no one objects to this and Gauri doesnt show the guts that ok , i will pursue a career and find my own life partner . They show the same ' Ladki Dekhni ceremony ' and the humiliations ........never an option . And aftr voluntarily subjecting themselves over and over again to the same humiliations they suddenly turn into kalis and start burning the men and lambasting them . For a change why dont they burn their dakiyanoosi thoughts ?

for real! y is a woman-centric show hell bent on making women look like a bunch of wimps who do nothing but cry and are stupid enuff to make the same mistakes again and then they come in a circle n beat the evil ones Gosh!

Exactly - there are just too many contradictions in this show...seems as though the prodcution team hired the bhajji sellers as the creatives of this show!
