Irrfan Khan honoured by British House of Commons
MUMBAI: Actor Irrfan Khan, who has played important roles in international flicks like The Warrior, The Namesake, A Mighty Heart and Slumdog Millionaire, has been honoured by the British House of Commons for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema.
The actor received the award from Khalid Mahmood, Labour MP from Birmingham Perry Barr in the House of Commons.
This award adds to his kitty for the amount of work he is been doing. Khan expressed his happiness over the film's acknowledgment at British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), where it won seven awards. "It's really an honor to receive such an award, it was a privilege to be a part of a movie like Slumdog. Seriously I don't have any words to express my feelings now," he said.
Khan has five - six releases this year including Kal Kisne Dekha, Paan Singh Tomar, Right Ya Wrong, New York, Acid Factory and Hisss.
