B for Bollywood and Bachchans By MIO Team Dec 28, 2005, 08:52 |
Amitabh Bachchan, who had a good last year, turned 2005 more glorious for him! He had had done11 films in total this year. There are the successful ones like 'Black', 'Waqt', 'Sarkar', and 'Bunty Aur Babli' which made the cash counter ring. He delivered a petite role in 'Paheli' of a Rajasthani shepherd. 'Dil Jo Bhi Kahey', 'Ek Ajnabee' and 'Viruddh' were the downers, that didn't affect him much because of his wonderful performance in all of them. His forthcoming release includes 'Family' and others in the pipeline. Top-notch performance, well etched characters, leading roles - all acted as scoring points for him this year. He is playing his second innings and what a comeback he has made! Abhishek unleashed a new life with three consecutive hits in a row with 'Sarkar', 'Bunty Aur Babli' and 'Dus'. He suddenly grabbed all the attention and the shutter bulbs didn't stop clicking on his face. His recent release 'Bluffmaster' has also bagged good response from the national and international circuits. For 'Sarkar' and 'Bunty Aur Babli', the father-son pair got together and went ahead on the wheels of enjoyment and fun. While Amitabh dominated the screen in 'Sarkar', Abhishek also made his presence felt in front of the magnanimous personality. He held his own, as he acted through his solemn and stark role with panache. 'Bunty Aur Babli' another reckoning hit of the year also saw Abhishek at his best. Amitabh gave him some company again and it was interesting to see that father cop running after his con son. The best pairing of 2005 definitely falls in the lap of Amitabh and Abhishek! |
