It was more than evident when Aamir Khan flatly turned down Shah Rukh Khan's invitation to hold the much hyped meeting at his residence Mannat. Sources say that Aamir Khan had clearly told Shah Rukh Khan that as they had certain contentious issues between them, he would not come to Mannat for the meeting. Aamir even ruled out meeting to take place at his residence and suggested that it be held at some neutral venue.
It was at that time that the name of Karan Johar cropped up. As Karan is a big filmmaker and has an excellent working relationship with Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, his Union Park residence was chosen for the meeting between the two giants of the industry. It was here that Shah Rukh and Aamir toiled for two consecutive nights to give the final shape to producers' response to multiplex issue.
However, it was Shah Rukh Khan's graciousness that gave the concrete shape to whole venture of discussing the issue unitedly at Karan's house. In fact, Aamir had sent an SMS to all big stars like SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar about the impending meeting and discussion.
But, it was only Shah Rukh Khan who responded to Aamir's message and agreed to take part in the discussion. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan did not respond at all, while others like Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar messaged back that Aamir could take decisions on their behalf, and they would abide by that.
Once at the venue of the meeting, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir became too involved with the multiplex issue to remember their personal differences. Aamir was seen animatedly discussing the issue with the likes of Yash Chopra, Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Mukesh Bhatt and Priti Shahani.
However, this did not deter King Khan to have a snipe at Aamir Khan while having pastries that were being served at the venue. SRK was heard gingerly remarking that with 'Aamir around, I would have to eat something extra sweet.' To which, Aamir responded by laughing and ducking the issue.
Later, Shah Rukh was even heard teasing Aamir Khan when latter could not find a toilet at Karan's house (as all were occupied) and returned thrice. When SRK heard Aamir complaining to Karan about this, he remarked, 'Arre, what's with you? Do you want to pee in every toilet in Karan's house?'
Sources say that all this camaraderie between Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir ended after the meeting and they have resumed their cold war once again….hopefully this time they will refrain from '….licking my feet' type of comment….not expecting too much na??
