Hey it's great to read these old articles. Thanx alot for posting thse here Su.😊
I too am so much in Kaal dhamaal mood these days..😆😆 thanx to Naz we got to refresh our memories.
When u say it was a turn in TV performances I too agree. I think it was Hussain and Juhi who made the Television stars represent their personal identity instead of the characters they play on TV. Most of the times on stage they made sure they DID NOT represent Sumit and Kumkum instead they be more of their age and more of Hussain and Juhi.. evn in clothes and expressions and everything..that trend was carried forward by the rest of the artists. U'd see this if u compare an old performance of SPA by any artiste and a new one(after 2005)

Do Actors Break Down When Their Serials Close Down?

With a lot of TV shows being pulled off-air or on the verge of being closed, a lot of celebrities have been left jobless. We asked a few to find out what they planned to do with this much-needed but forced break.

Hussain Kuwajerwala (Sumit of 'Kumkum')

"I want to do a few things which I have been unable to do for a long time ' like watch a lot of films and go for outings. I have always loved sports but never played them so I want to play a few sports now.

When you are doing television by the end of the working day you are too tired to do anything for enjoyment. So now I want to relax for a while before thinking on what to do next.

Gurdeep Kohli (Bani of 'Kasamh Se')

I have got a break for the first time since I joined 'Kasamh Se' so I'm going to enjoy my break. I have started getting offers but I am in no hurry to work. Currently, I'm trying to sleep as much as I can (laughs), watch films and television and I have gone out for a few days. I'm spending time with my husband Arjun (Punj) and enjoying playing a housewife.

Due to TV's hectic schedules, I was neglecting my exercise but now I make the effort to go to the gym everyday and exercise regularly.

Panchi Bora (Prachi of 'Kayamath')

These days I'm looking for work ' let me see how things shape-up. I'm a workaholic and prefer to work. I hope God has something in store for me. In this industry, it is all about luck. When I started my career, I did not know I will come this far. It is a major achievement for me.

One reason I'm not enjoying my break is because my sister is in Australia. She always accompanies me everywhere and I'm missing her. For me holidays are a family experience. I am wondering whether I should pay her a visit in Australia.

Swati Chitnis (Jasuben of 'Jasuben Jayantilal Joshi Ki Joint Family')

Now is the time for me to do a lot of work. I was shooting for 25 days a month, and have not had the time to even grieve my husband's death. I lost my husband in October so there is a lot of pending bank work. I have a son who has just finished his pilot training and I want to spend time with him.

I'm in Pune right now, sorting things out. I will take some time off now but if there is an interesting offer I do not mind taking it up, whether it's a new show or theatre --later my first love."

Sayantani Ghosh (Amrita of 'Naaginn')

(The show last episode will be aired on April 11 according to Sayantani)

For the last two or two-and-a-half years, I have been continuously working. After such a long time I have got a break, so I will sit back and relax for some time. I have my family in Calcutta and I plan to pay them a visit. I will definitely enjoy myself with the little time that I get because I'm already getting calls for new shows.
