Khan has decided to take to the streets to lend a helping hand to his friend Deora.
According to Congress sources, Khan will hold a roadshow criss- crossing in the Mumbai South to appeal to the voters, particularly the Muslims who form a sizeable voting population in this constituency.
Khan's roadshow will start from Crawford Market and snake through Shaukat Ali Road, Madanpura, Saat Rasta, and Nagpada. Khan will travel in an open jeep. The roadshow is slated to last for three hours.
Sources said Deora called up Khan, who agreed to do the roadshow without hesitation. The police have granted permission and all the formalities have been completed.
Congress fears that Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Haji Mohammad Ali Shiekh will pick up a sizeable number of Muslim votes in Mumbai South. The Congress is leaving no stone unturned to get support from all quarters to retain the seat that is currently held by Deora.
