Hey everyone,
I'm new to India Forums and am usually a silent reader, but I would really like to know -
What do you love about KMH, and what according to you could be done differently on the show?
I know that there are several topics about how different the show is from the others; but I thought it'll be a good idea to list what we like/don't like so if the Creative team of KMH are looking they can see how much we appreciate their efforts and they continue with the great work they are doing!
Personally,
I love -
*the background SCORE - for a change there's no filmy music or the loud and dramatic dhishh -dhisshh to emphasise scenes.
* the fact that there are no triple takes of a scene which I find super irritatingđĄ in other BT shows.
* the DIRECTION and screenplay - thank goodness that issues aren't dragged out for weeks, and there's minimal rona-dhona. Besides the love story itself is so well portrayed and fresh, and is not conventional or cheesy.
* well defined and realistic CHARACTERS and the ACTORS who play them beautifully. For once there's enough logic behind why characters behave the way they do. Even the 'vamp of the show', Nuttasha, is behaving reasonably so far!
* that there are no preachy characters taking a moral high ground about traditions/values.
* addressing issues such as widow remarriage, gender discrimination at work, sexual molestation etc and incorporating them in the storyline; while at the same time not making an over the top fuss about it.
* the DIALOGUE - three cheers for the screenplay đđđ !!
* ARJUN and AROHI, OF COURSE! I think Arohi can definitely be a ROLE MODEL for the girls of today, cuz she is educated, intelligent, talented, witty and can handle situations brilliantly:) And Arjun Punj..about him..well, what's left for me to say??!! LOVE him of course:)
* Arohi's MAKE UP - I love the way her hair and make up is done, she looks very pretty, thank heavens no fake eyelashes or high heels etc for her!
I can go on, but I'll stop before you all start screaming at me through your screens!
What I don't like..
Well there's not much not to like, and we have all learnt to ignore small glitches in BT shows (e.g. the show is apparently set in Shimla - it looks nothing like Shimla, but oh well, we can stretch our imagination and pretend it is so!!), but here goes -
* the costumes - BOOORING. Especially Paddy's outfits are really strange! And enough with the 'only the vamp wears western outfits' point of view - why wasn't Natasha wearing an Indian dress during the Sangeet? And the Sharma girls could atleast wear a pair of jeans sometimes, it wouldn't be so shocking would it? Even though I love desi dresses, I think we should see a wider range of costumes on screen.
* Poorvi's dubbed voice.. Salil's English! I'd ignore this but it's difficult as he is supposed to an Ivy League graduate!!
* the minor details - saddish bouquets, the background dancers in the Arjun - Arohi salsa episode etc.
That's it really - I'm obviously pleasantly surprised to see a show which seems to have a prewritten storyline, and I desperately hope that I won't be disappointed as the episodes progress!
Sorry for such a long post..but I had to write it out for my peace of mind!
Waiting for everyone to comment....let me know if you guys agree with me, or you all think differently???
