It is freezing cold in Jaipur, but the mood on the sets of J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan is heated, courtesy the catfight between cast members Divya Dutta and Ayesha Jhulka.
According to the sources the production team, "Divya Dutta and Ayesha Jhulka just can't stand each other. And they make their hostility towards one another quite clear. But matters have reached a flash point for Divya and Ayesha. There are news of the two shouting at each other, screaming abuses and hurling accusations in the open, as the rest of the cast tries hard to look away.
When questioned, Dutta said, "It's been a great experience so far working with Ash, Abhishek and Shabanaji. I had certain differences with Ayesha, but things have been sorted out and it's no big deal. But I don't want to blow it out of the proportion by talking about it. We have sorted it out; it was a mutual attempt, rather than an individual one, at making peace."
"There are no disputes at all that we need to sort out. Divya is a sweet girl and I did a show with her on December 17. If she's talking it about it, I'm really shocked." Says Jhulka.
The actress says she has signed Dutta for her next play. "Divya is a little kid, and I'm looking forward to working with her. I just hope these rumours don't affect our work." Interestingly, Dutta and Jhulka co-star in Anand Mahadevan's play, Mujhe Rang De. It is reliably learnt that Dutta plans to opt out of the play.
