Some forgotten Bollywood jodis.....
A small trip down the memory lane of some great but forgotten bollywood jodis of the past....Hope u enjoy it and please dont forget to add to this list!

Sanjeev Kumar/ Jaya Bhaduri

He was one of the most intense and versatile "character actors" of Hindi cinema, she one of the most natural performer of all times and together on screen they were magic. Their appearances together were not just as a romantic pair but he played her father in Parichay, and her father in law in Sholay. He even joked once that he regretted not playing her son. Their romantic chemistry was so evident in the classic song "bahon mein chale aa": the perfect depiction of naughty yet innocent love! Their best performance together perhaps was Koshish where they played a deaf and mute couple. Their last appearance together was Silsila and some of their scenes together in the film are a must watch!

Sachin and Sarika

They had both done several films as child artistes before they were launched as a young pair in the RajShri Production's film "Geet Gata chal". The film's bumper success launched pair of Sachin and Sarika successfully. However they were relegated to being a lead pair in only B grade movies and could replicate the success of this blockbuster with hit music.

Ranjeeta and Mithun Chakraborty

They were the poor man's dream romatic pair in the 80's and gave several hits like Wardaat", "Tarana", "Taqdeer Ka Baadshah", "Suraksha' "Hum se badkar kaun

The jodi returned to the silver screen again as a romantic couple in Ashu Trikha's film Zindagi Tere Naam" which seems to have sunk without a trace

Loved Sanjeev-Jaya in all their movies together but my personal favorite would have to be Anamika..."meri bheegi bheegi si palkon.." I will be singing this song all day now!
If I recall correctly I think Ranjeeta and Mithun even had a thing for each other in real life.
Sachin-Sarika were adorable in Geet Gata Chal, I have always been fond of Sachin especially in Balika Badhu he was so cute!

i loved Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya's jodi. They had such wonderful chemistry. They were superb in Koshish, that film had me in tears! But Anamika has to be one of my favourite films. They looked so cute together esp. in the song Baahon mein chale aao (love it!) For me, they have to be one of the best pairings to have graced Bollywood. I think they bought out the best in each other onscreen. And apparently they were very good friends in real life as well.
Thanx for sharing.

Um, you took the words from me. This is exactly how I feel, and I am exactly the same age as you. This is more than a bit uncanny. But yes, those were all my mom's favorites, and I am so glad she used to make me watch all those movies with her. And I love Sanjeev Kumar-Jaya Bhaduri so much, I loved the type of movies they did. That was another era, but yes I do the whole reminscing thing too, and I loved Koshish. It seems like enough people don't remember Sanjeev Kumar, which is sad because he was one of my favorites from that era.

Sanjeev Kumar was a very good actor who unfortunately wasnt as successful as his over-hyped co stars. He was a very sensitive performer. I loved Anamika and the song Meri Bheegi Bheegi - an all time classic for me.
