Moreover they might have advantage over others for their debut films & maybe a few afterwards but ultimately its only ones talent which decides if they are to stay or not. If star kids had it all easy then we wouldn't have failures like Kumar Gaurav, Rajeev Kapoor, Mimoh etc.

not really.. yeah, they might face flack.. but you can get away with giving as many flops as you want.. OBVIOUSLY anyone will improve.. so i don't buy that.. sorry..
yeah, but there are others too.. who have made it.. those were bit unlucky because hey, they also lack the look too.. so there is no excuse of casting them.. with others, it's the so called 'x factor'.. sorry swan, it's harsh i know.. but i really can't agree with you here..
these are only a few examples.. how many new comers have survived despite being more talented than many of the other star kids..?! look at the overall ratio too..

i'm not saying that those who don't belong to film backgrounds struggle less........ofcourse their struggle is much more & despite obvious talent find it very difficult to make a name.

My point is that the star kids whether talented or not also face a lot of obstacles. It might not be in the form of running with ur portfolio to every director in town but living under the shadow of one's famous parent can be very daunting. Throughout their career they will be constantly compared with that parent & even if they do manage to prove themselves it will never be enough. I agree they are given many more opportunities than the others but as i said in the long run only those who are talented will survive.

to some extent, i agree with your points.. definitely they also struggle.. and it is tough to prove that you match up to your parents.. but i still don't like the preferential treatment given to them.. and they do tend to throw starry tantrums.. Kareena comes to mind.. but it was okay back then.. it's another thing she's completely mellowed down, thank god..! but point remains the same.. i wonder what would they do if it was someone else.. that i find completely unfair..!!
and in the long run, of course they survive.. you are bound to learn if you have done twelve movies.. but did you deserve those chances is another question.. and that's where i have an objection.. if they get that treatment, then why not others.. why this prejudice..?! so it's okay just because you are so and so's son or daughter..? i refuse to agree to that..

ya can name quite a few bratty star kids who have thankfully mellowed down now.....😉 😆

i don't think anyone has said it's a bed of roses for them.. but it all boils down to pragya's first post, doesn it..?!

There is nothing wrong with a parent wanting their kid to follow the same profession as themselves. But irrespective of whose kid some one is one still has to study for MBBS to become a doctor, BE to become an engineer. Also once you start working people are only judged by how well they work not which family they come from.

However in Bollywood we can see many star kiuds coming into the industry without any talent for film-making or acting. Some of them continue to give flops or bad performances but they stay because of the family name. Where else can you find a star daughter saying she is born actress & wont waste time assisting a director or studying film-making or a film director waiting for another star daughter to lose weight to cast in his movie? If there was similarly another overweight girl with good acting skills without a filmi family backing, do you think any director will wait?
This is why people like Deepika & asin have to watch every word they say, are torn-apart by the media in spite of being polite, yet star kids can get away with just about anything.

@pksanam......My response was to yours, Kyaktsar & pragya's post (Copied below)........As i said i agree with you & pragya about the star kids getting preferential treatment & given repeated chances regardless of whether they are talented or not BUT as i stated before i also feel that despite the obvious influence they also face a lot of flak because of reasons already discussed.
And i really don't think the star kids get away with the comments they make.......if that was the case then Abhishekh's, Sonam's or Kareena's every interview would not be closely scrutinised under a microscope.

i think i'm getting repetative here so i better stop now......😆 😆

point in bold - exactly.. that is the whole point.. it's a fact that star kids get undue advantage which other new comes do not get..! i don't have problems per say but i find this really unfair...!
and fact remains that star kids are mostly brats and get away with whatever comments they make while the other newcomers are torn to shreds if they say the same thing..! personally, i agree fully with pragya..

LOL.. swan, you are sweeto.. hehehe..
alrite, i have edited my post because i don't want to quote too many examples here, but the ones you have mentioned, comparing them to their contemporaries, yes, they have gotten away with quite a lot of their comments..! yeah, they are scrutinised now, but not the same as the others who are in the same position but do not belong to the industry... 😉 accept it or not, but it's the truth.. 😛
and i'll sound like a broken record too, 'as per reasons' previously given, i will stand by that.. 😆😆😆
