Nach Baliye is all about couples dancing and the chemistry they exude on screen. And yet one hears that couples sometimes get together just to take a shot at the prize money even if they aren't actually seeing each other. Of course, they deny this strongly, when asked.

Karan Patel who came close to winning season three of Nach Baliye with Amita Chandekar as his partner made no bones of breaking up with her as soon as the contest ended. The fact that they hardly looked like a courting couple is another story.

The twist in the tale is that Karan has been roped in to perform for the fourth season and his partner is going to be Karishma Tanna who he says "is a very good friend but certainly not someone I am going around with." How then does she qualify to be his baliye?

Adding to the confusion is the fact that Karishma has, for long, been seeing Bappa Lahiri. Where does that leave that couple? Karishma explains, 'We are just two actors performing, in support of our friends Daljit and Shalin. I am already seeing someone so please avoid such conclusions."

As for Amita Chandekar, she is dismissive of the whole incident. "Karan Patel and I have broken up. It really does not matter if he is performing or not or who he is dancing with. We are professionals and work professionally."
