Despite what you may have heard all over the Internet the past few days, Summit has not hired a director for "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse," and all the announcements that Juan Antonio Bayona officially had the job were incorrect. The LA Times caught up with Summit's production president Erik Feig, who quickly shot down all reports of Bayona's hiring. "The 'Eclipse' directing job hasn't been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We've met with three or four talented filmmakers and we'll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job."

This much is true: Summit did meet with Bayona this week, as did Stephanie Meyer. But Bayona isn't sure he wants to join the "Twilight" universe, because its story and characters are already established, and he likes to do his own thing. But he is a fan of the series, so don't be too hard on him for his reluctance to join a set series!

So, the director drama continues, and we're no closer to knowing who will helm "Eclipse" than we are to seeing an end to all the crazy "Twilight" rumors. We promise we'll bring you the official announcement the minute Summit makes it. In the meantime, why not check out our rumor recap to see who Twilighters think should take the director's chair, and offer some suggestions of your own.

it doesn't matter who the director is as long as they are talented and do a good job of making the movie so that its true to the book.
