Jai Walia's life - a failure

As Shazia mentioned in one of her posts that Jai Walia might die in the last episode (source of info - SBS!), I wonder if the viewers of the show should mourn for him.

Here is my verdict....

At different time points in the life of KS
, JW could not....

1) be a sober and reasonable man
2) hold on to his love - Pia
3) have control on his temptations - Dubai episode with Pia
4) respect the tradition and meaning of marriage
5) love his wife completely
6) trust his wife completely
7) love and understand his second wife, Meera
8) keep control on his kids - If it was not for Pronita/Bani, each one of the GenX kids were headed to hell
9) maintain unity in the family (being the head of the family)
10) control his obsessive compulsive sister, Jigs
11) take care of his business - Meera, Ranvir, Jigs, Veer (to name the major players) had fun with it!!

Putting it all together, Jai Walia could not be an ideal - human being, lover, husband, brother, father, business man or uncle etc etc

I'll wait for your comments...thanks!

I absolutely agree - I think the worst point for JW's character was the awful ONS. Otherwise before that, I always ahd a certain amount of sympathy for him and thought that JW was the beast that Bani would tame. However, the only time he has been an ideal husband to Bani was when they were divorcing and he said that Bani and Pushkar were not having an affair. Bani hasn't been an ideal wife either, but Jai has always walked the line between self pity and vengeance and it has led him no where. In fact it left him an "I married a muderer" scenario.
I stopped watching the show straight after the 2nd leap when they showed that he had married Meera. They turned JW's character from a roaring lion with untold depths to a man who could not keep it in his pants. Si even if he does die, I wouldn't mourn for him. My mourning for his charater began with the ONS and nothing could have redeemed him of that.

Thanks Anjali for the JW bashing. I am glad you vented out your frustrations with JW. You really remind me of another friend called Anju...She used to be a big JW hater....

Unfortunately, most of JW / RK lovers will probably refrain from answering or commenting on this post. 😉

Well my take Bfly is that Jai Walia had a very active and fulfilling life and that's all I'm going to say 😆. I can't say the same for Mrs Bani Walia, poor thing I feel sorry for her, the majority of her years with Jai was only spent in misery and countless separations. When she thinks that things are finally in place like both of them growing old together I mean older and living happily ever after, her fairy tale is going to end before it begins because her Mr Walia might kick the bucket before it happens. Hate to say it but Meera was better than her in this regards because at least Meera got to spend twenty how much years of marital bliss with Jai Walia.

Sheena, it was more of an impromptu post rather than a planned act to vent out my frustrations with JW. Actually, your friend Anju may have hated JW but I really do not care. Hate is still a very strong word for me. I made this post more for the heck of a discussion. I am not particularly attached to any actor/character of this show except Pallavi Subhash and her act as Meera. I would only defend her if my mood allows otherwise it's all the same for me.

I can make another post on JW titled - "Jai Walia's Life - All fun!" and support my point by mentioning how Jai Walia....

1) was filthy rich
2) had plenty of women to sleep around with
3) had plenty of kids - both girls and boys who turned out to be not so bad
4) received too much attention from too many women in one life that too until very very late in life
5) had a glorifying ever-progressing business with little effort from his side and despite the fact that he was surrounded by snakes in the grass
6) had a very loving sister who always thought of his welfare and always tried to protect him in her own sweet little ways

....etc etc.....I can just go on and on about it.....It's so much fun

But I am thankful to you for posting a reply here and I would totally understand if JW lovers decide to not post here but it would be even better if they try not to take offence in my writing.

Very well written post Dr Butterfly 👏 👏 👏

My favourite posts tend to be ones that have lots of valid points... and in such short space, you've put summed up the character very well - both the abundences of failures, as well as most of his high's that you've mentioned in your third post here 👏

In the early days, I did used to think that Walia was a good character... one of the main reasons was the Atomic Waliafication theme music that he had! It was definitely one of the best tunes that any character had at the time, second only to Ranvir's legendary GHANTEES 👍🏼 I'm sure that I uploaded that tune at some point also... but seriously, that music was often enough to make a scene cool!

Anyways, after the character was turned into one that seemed like some sort of compulsive liar, I started finding the guy rather disgusting... the writers really did a number on him, because for a while, whenever Walia spoke, he'd be badly lying to his wife 😳
In fact, Walia ended up becoming a symbol of infidelity - in the movie Golmaal Returns, there was a 30 second Walia scene, in which Walia was shown to be in an affair with some secretary 😳 And so even the big screen chose Walia to be the character that best represented unfaithfulness on the small screen 👎🏼
And then later on, there was the hyperactive child production rate with multiple women, bigamy, and stuff like that... in the end, the character ended up having a life which was kinda shameful - but then again, that's somewhat normal for Balaji Telefilms characters 😆
But to the actor's credit, I think Mr Ram Kapoor did an okay job with the character 👍🏼

God bless.

A very nice post Anjali!

There is a character and there is an actor....we need to look at them in two different perspectives and we need to realize the difference b/w them...In the case of Jai Walia....I must admit that I am an ardent fan of RK .... He has put life in the character of Jai Walia....made him believable (i.e. in the early days of KS) and made many people to start watching the show KS.....He deserves all the praises from my side....I can never forget the wonderful performances he gave at different points of KS til date! I will miss watching RK the actor! but I am not sad as I am hopeful of catching him in another character down the lane!

Now coming to the character of Jai Walia...Well as you rightly mentioned! he is not someone whose death I would mourn on! I think he was believable in the initial months of KS....he made mistakes but those went well with the kind of character he was but to what extent? So many people hate him for several reasons and that is justified....it was actually the consistent butchering of this character that has led to the demise of this show cuz even though it was a tale of three sisters but it was actually Jai Walia who was the lifeline of the show!

So to cut it short, yes his life is a failure and killing him in the end is not something totally absurd! and as I said I take him as the lifeline of the show, ou have to cut the lifeline to bring an end to the entity!
