Jai Sita Ram
Lavnasur explains to his soldiers how they will attack Ayodhya from different sides and how he will enter Ayodhya from Saryu river and kill Ram.
His soldiers glorify him.
One minister - Pardon me, king. But before attacking anybody, a wise king must find out the military strength of the enemy, the details of the place where the war will take place, and the stretegies of the commander of the enermy's army. But you did none of these.
Lavnasur - I have to do all these before attacking an ordinary prince?
Minister - Forgive me, king. You are making a mistake. That ordinary human not only built a 100 yojan bridge on sea with the help of monkeys and bears but even destroyed great Ravan and his clan. Attacking him without full preparation means giving invitation to one's own death.
Senapati - Minister Kakusth, you are teaching our king cowardice. You are discouraging us. (To Lavnasur)King, mahamantri Kakusth is a traitor. If you permit me, I will kick him out.
Lavnasur - Mahamantri Kakusth was trusted by my father. I cannot insult him like this. I will myself, with full honour, kick him out.
Lavnasur pushes Kakusth.
Kakusth thinks - When a king is more interested in hearing his praises and not the truth, then his end is near. But I am truly patriotic towards Madhupuri. Therefore I will try to stop you, king.
Karkati tells Lavnasur to concentrate on the war plan. Lavnasur takes a vow that he will make Kaushalya childless.
Minister Kakusth meets Rajmata Lola (Lavnasur's great grandmother).
Rajmata - Do you want my great grandson to be a coward? I will talk to Lavnasur only after knowing the complete truth.
In Ayodhya, Kaushalya is talking to Sita. Ram is also there.
Kaushalya - Sita, every woman wants to see her grandkids playing. I wish the same. (Giving her rudraksh)This is Lord Shiv's rudraksh. Keep it in your room. Everything will be good. Now you two go to sabha. We will talk the rest later.
In raj sabha
Ram - Sumant ji, make the announcement that in Ram rajya, brahman, tapasvi and sages are respectable and worshipable. Whoever hurts them will be dealt with strictly.
Sage Vashishth praises Ram for his decision and blesses that Ram's glory will increase like the moon of bright fortnight.
Some sages are doing puja of Lord Vishnu. Lavnasur and his men come there and start killing the sages.
Lavnasur - If anybody can save you from Lavnasur, then he is only Lavnasur. Make announcement that in Madhupuri only Lavnasur will be worshipped.
He gets the news that rajmata Lola wants to meet him and goes to meet her.
Lola - I have heard that you are planning to attack Ayodhya.
Lavnasur - Yes, dadi ma. I have to attack. Ayodhya's king Ram, with the help of cruel gods, has insulted the monster race. If I keep quiet, then what has happened to Lanka may happen to Madhupuri. Lankesh Ravan was my cousin. It is my duty to take revenge of his death.
Lola - Before attacking Ayodhya, find out all details of Ram and his army. That knowledge will be useful for you in the war.
Lavnasur agrees to send two spies to Ayodhya.
In Ayodhya, it is dawn. Kaushalya worships Lord Vishnu and arranges diyas. Sita is up and getting ready. Hanuman and some bards are singing a song glorifying Ram and requesting him to wake up.
The entire scene is very beautifully picturised.
The song is:-
nain ubaaro, kamal-nayan, nain ubaaro
nij-daason ko, nij-bhakton ko, charnaarvind anurakton ko
swaami kripaakar nihaaro, nihaaro, nihaaro
nain ubaaro, kamal-nayan, nain ubaaro
kaushalyaa ke praan jaago, dashrath ke abhimaan jaago
jaago he, jaago he, jaago
sitaa ke srimaan jaago, vinati kare hanumaan jaago
sri raamchandra, aandand-kand, tum kamal-kunj, ham trasit vind
hamri dashaa pe vichaaro, vichaaro, vichaaro
nain ubaaro, kamal-nayan, nain ubaaro
sagari rain tumhe sovat keerti, haari chetnaa, tandraa jeetee
yaachak dwaare khade pasaare, nain jholiyaan, riti riti
abhinav-anup tihun lok bhoop, raghuveer ramaapati raam-roop
darhan bhikshaa do, ji daaro ji daaro ji daaro
nain ubaaro, kamal-nayan, nain ubaaro
Translation:-
Open your eyes, O lotus-eyed, open your eyes.
On your servants, your devotees and who desire the dust of your feet,
O Lord, please be kind and look at them, look at them, look at them.
Open your eyes, O lotus-eyed, open your eyes.
Wake up, O Kaushalya's life. Wake up, O Dashrath's pride.
Wake up, O wake up, O wake up.
Wake up, O Sita's husband. Hanuman requests, please wake up.
Sri Ramchandra, you are full of bliss, you are lotus-house, we are thirsty.
Please consider, consider, consider our conditions.
Open your eyes, O lotus-eyed, open your eyes.
The night-long precipitation glorifies you as you sleep.
Wakefulness lost and sleep won.
Supplicants are at the door, spreading their eyes
O uncomparable, the master of the three worlds, the husband of goddess Ramaa,
Grant them, grant them, grant them your sight in alms.
Open your eyes, O lotus-eyed, open your eyes.
Sita comes and presses Ram's feet.
Sita - Wake up, king. Sun god is waiting for you to wake up.
Ram - Sita, for the world, I am a king. But, for you, I am your Ram.
Sita - For the world, you have become king now. But for me, you were king even when you were in forest.
Ram - Then you used to call me swami.
Sita - We were already forest dwellers then. But now I am worried. (Smiles)I am worried that you may get angry with me and send me to exile.
Then a very emotional Luv-Kush promo (Sita's exile, Valmiki bringing Sita to his ashram, Luv and Kush mastering weapons, Sita entering the Earth) is shown.
