I loved the three sisters. My favorite was always Pia, since she was sassy, smart, and because of her the entire show kind of started. I loved the way Bani took her place at the wedding, and I loved how the three sisters had different ideaologies. I loved all of the characters, but my favorite twist was when Pia drugged Mr. Walia and became pregnant! Many of you, I know, hated it and thought it destroyed the show, but for me it was amazing. It was something different, and it fit into the show because the new surroundings of Mumbai changed the relation between the sisters. It also fit into Pia's character: she was always determined and always got what she wanted, so this was a great twist.
The first five year leap was great. It was very developed, and I loved the children, Rano's involvement in business, and Pia's vampishness. It was the best leap out of all of them, and it still stuck to the main theme: the bond between three sisters. Sure, it was also about Jai and Bani, but it included spice between Rano, Rashi, and Ranvir, and Pia's drastic change over the course of the leap. It could have been executed better, but I loved how Jai and Bani got reunited, and what was the best was Rano's acting. She was wonderfully able to express the emotions of anger and helplessness towards Pia and Bani.
Naturally, I was devastated when I discovered Roshni Chopra (Pia) was leaving the show. I read in an article that she was leaving because the show had started to become more about Bani. I laughed at that idea, but Roshni had foreshadowed something I did not see. The truth is, after the first five year leap the writers could not stop focusing on Bani. It was always Bani, Bani, and Bani. Pia and Rano were not used, and stood in the background. I hated the stupidity of the second five year leap, and I looked towards the disappearance of Pia as a guiding light that would bring the show back to the theme of three sisters.
Bani's death sequence was one of the most amazing scenes in the entire show, filled with action, sadness, and drama. Meera's character was amazing, and Pallavi did a great job acting and she deserved an award. I was happy Bani was replaced, since now I would not have to see her same crying face with underacting. Gurdeep was good, and portrayed an older Bani, but there was something missing. After the resolution of the first five year leap, the show never went back to the original theme of three sisters. I had a heart attack when Pia came back, and I was nostalgic seeing the three sisters together again, albeit Bani in a different form.
When they changed the actresses of Pia and Rano, I was devastated. The three sisters were lost forever. They were never coming back, and the original theme was destroyed. I was heartbroken. Kasamh Se became a fight between Jigyasa and Bani, and Bani's children, and Bani's husband, and Bani's family, not Bani and her sisters Pia and Rano.
Kasamh Se was never about Jai and Bani. It was never just about Bani at all. It was about Bani, Pia, and Rano, the three main characters. This was their story, but it was butchered since the writers had to focus on Bani and Jai. Bani and Jai, not Pia or Rano.
Kasamh Se started out as the story of three sisters, but it became the story of one. That is what I miss the most about it. I greatly request the entire cast and crew of the show to atleast make the final episode of Kasamh Se about the bond between three sisters, and go back to that theme. Please, also bring back the original characters in the last episode. I would love to see Prachi, Roshni, and Arunima together one last time. I've hated this show more than ever in the past few months, but the truth is I love it and it was always have a special place in my heart.
Phew! Sorry for writing so long, but I had to pour this out! How did you feel about Kasamh Se? Did it live up to its tagline: 'Teen behano ka vaada zindagi se?' In my eyes, it definitely did not. But I will always remember it...
