The Dev Team presents the first Mock Trial Contest for DM!!
Whether you are addicted to television courtroom dramas or whether you just love to have a good long heated argument. Whether you love the serious decorum of the courtroom or whether you love an exciting game. Come and participate in DM's Mock Trial contest, where DM will be transformed into an intense courtroom full of drama and suspense, with judge, jury, prosecution and defense.
The Case: Inspired by United States Vs. Lori Drew the fictitious case deals with issues like online privacy, cyber bullying and internet codes of conduct which is very relevant in our cyber lifestyles.
The Defense: Mrs. Jane Doe. Jane created an account under a fake name to spy on her daughter and her classmates and unintentionally caused a teenager to attempt suicide. She claims she did nothing wrong.
The Prosecution: "Teen protection" a non profit citizens group whose aim is to protect teenagers on the internet. They claim that Mrs. Jane Doe is guilty of intentionally causing harm to the unsuspecting teen and that she committed fraud by registering under a false name.
Your Roles: You will take part in the trial as prosecution or defense. You can be a lawyer on either side or be a witness. Please reply or PM me/Raj5000 on whether you want to be the prosecution team or defense team, and as lawyer or witness. Please send in your responses by Saturday Feb 28th midnight CST. If we have too many people for one role, roles will be assigned randomly. Raj and I will be the judges mediating, anyone who do not want to prosecute or defend can be jury.
How it works: Based on responses you will be divided into prosection and defense teams. If you are not a lawyer you will be given a character profile for witness. On March 1st teams will be announced and case details will be provided, with further instruction and information on characters and roles. Remember lawyers often do not get to choose whom they prosecute and defend, and there can always be more to the case than meets the eye. You will find out. 😉 Over the next few weeks you will be battling it out to determine whose truth holds more weight.
