I am assuming everyone here knows about Chris Brown and Rihanna incident. And how he has lost endorsements and his career is said to be over now etc..many radio stations have stopped playing his songs..

What if a big profile Bollywood actor was involved in an incident like this? Would fans and Bollywood media have acted differently? Would they somehow put the blame on the girl? Will anyone boycott the actor's movies? or will that bring more publicity and he will do better than he did before?

Will rest of the Bollywood come to his defense and his close friends and producers etc make comments like "Blah Blah is very close to me, he is my 3 AM friend, he can't hurt a fly", "what happens in his personal life means nothing to me blah blah" "i think media should leave him alone he has suffered so much everyone makes mistakes" "the girl did wrong by filing police complaint, they should have sorted the issue amongst themselves"..

I think the scenario in Bollywood would depend on who is more powerful, if the girl comes from a good linage and is a part of a powerful camp then they would side with her and vice versa.. I think Bollywood is full of opportunistic people all worrying about what benefits them as opposed to supporting what is right (barring a few conscientious celebrities)

You hit the nail on the head.

If this happened in bollywood we would all be discussing how evil the woman is and how she tricked the man into beating her so that she can get some additional sympathy. The truth we all live in a society where most people still think that women are reponsible for all the bad things in the world and men are just like some innocent dolls who never have a mind of their own and just follow whatever the women folk tell them to do.

actually there are people in hollywood and the music industry that are backing Chris Borwn and saying that he is a "beautiful person," etc. i know that during the Salman/Ash crisis people sort of looked the other way...but she never spoke out. she should've said something.
as far as today goes, i think that the leading ladies have just as much power today in the industry as do the men. if the guys did something, im sure the other ladies would rally around her, as would the men. the girls are just as indispensible as the men.

Even so, is a girl's slap equated to a guy's punch?? Did you see Rihanna's face...it was all swollen! I'm disgusted by Chris Brown's behavior....he seemed like such a sweet and innocent young man....boy, was I wrong!

Anyways pertaining to Bollywood, I think people would look the other way and not support the actress because they might lose their connections....but I think Bollywood actresses are a lot more stronger and vocal nowadays so if something like this would have happened, they wouldn't stay in that relationship.....but it always comes to pubilicity and whether the victim would be attacked by the media and i think the Bollywood media would attack the female than the male....

I think fans would react differently then the media.
We all know how the media can be, they would probably start making stories up that have no relation whatsoever to the incidient.
But for fans, it would probably be more of a "who do i like better" b/c in the end of the day we were not there at the incident and until solid proof was givenn, fans most likely would support their star

when reports of salman beating Aish came out , no one really backed him except his family. yes, Aish also got a lot of slack..bt salman wasn't spare either. And right after when he involved in all those court cases, indistry completely wrote him. People thought his career was over until Tere Naam came, which showed he still had crazy fan following. there were two good years when he didn't even have any work (salman even talked about it in one of his interview)

same thing happened to Sanjay Dutt when his name got involved in terriorist attacks, every one cut ties with him except his family. It took a lot for him to revive his career.
So i don't see so much differennce!

Personally, I think any kind of violence - regardless of who it's coming from - is wrong. But you do have a point. Even if she did slap him (and bruised his dignity in the process), it was absolutely despicable of hm to abuse her like that. I've seen the leaked photos and I think that someone would have to be really angry to cause that sort of damage. It is upsetting to see this. That Rihanna now claims that this was an ongoing abusive relationship really upsets me -- why did it take her a rough beating to speak up? I really wished she'd spoken up before or broken up with him when the abuse started. But it's good that she's finally spoken up. Perhaps, it will encourage other abuse victims to take action. To think that Brown's father abused his mother makes it so much more complicated. How could someone who has seen his mother be abused by his father do the same thing to another person? 😕
If this happened in Bollywood, it would really depend on the status of the celebrity. For instance, if a not-so-popular actor abused a not-so-popular actress, sympathy would go to the actress. However, if a well-known actor abused a well-known but less commercially successful actress, empathy would be directed towards the actor. Conversely, if the actress was more successful than the actor and had godfathers in the industry, she'd get the sympathy.

I understand the upset over Rihanna coming forward before. Maybe this time, she just couldn't hide it, especially since their was alleged eyewitness (not too sure about that)....She is still pretty young, 20 years old. I was reading an article that said that teenagers are blaming Rihanna and believe that abuse in relationships is justified. Isn't that sad? Oh, I remember hearing Chris on some show where he was talking about his mother's abuse and how afraid he was when his father would beat his wife. He even went on to say that he would never want to do that to a woman. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Maybe the psychology is somewhat similar to how thoses molested often become molestors themselves. Whatever the case, I never expected this from Chris Brown. I was a fan of him and didn't really like Rihanna. I'm definitely not a fan of him anymore and I support Rihianna no matter what she did to "provoke" Brown.

I do agree though that it depends on the popularity of Bollywood actors. The industry would most likely support the more popular party. Either they would blind back them up or just sweep in under the rug. Either way, can't lose those connections that are so important in the film industry.
