Alka out; Karan Mehra steps in Hum Ladkiyan
Sony's 'Hum Ladkiyan' is witnessing few changes. Firstly, lead actress Alka has been replaced by rookie actor Preethi Chaudhary. The other change comes in the form of actors Karan Mehra and Sonika Sahay entering the show.
A source from the production house informs, "Karan Mehra is playing the role of a business tycoon. The name of his character is Yuvraj Goel. Sonika Sahay, who has acted in shows like 'Saath Phere' and 'Parrivaar' is playing Karan Mehra's sister. The name of her character is Naina Goel. She will be playing a negative role. Toshika Verma who plays the role of Alka (one of the four protagonists) is out of the show. Debutant Preethi Chaudhary is replacing her. All these entries will be shown in different episodes. Sonika, Preethi and Karan will enter on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday respectively."
When asked why Toshika was replaced, our source says, "She was in a conflict with the production house. Her replacement was planned few weeks ago and casting for the same was going on since two weeks."
Meanwhile, Toshika Verma had this to say, "It is just that I didn't want to continue so I opted out. Things did not work out between me and the production house. I thought it is better to call it quits before things go from bad to worse."
Confirming the news, producer Aniruddh Pathak says, "We as a production house have our own professional requirement and she as an actor has hers own. Sometimes production houses fail to meet these requirements and sometimes it's the actor. So it happens from both the sides. It was a mutual decision to part ways. There are no heart feelings or any conspiracy theory."
