Sunny Deol dropped the idea of 'PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA'?

With Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi officially burying the hatchet and deciding to do a film together, the indications are that Deol may not go ahead with his earlier plan of producing a second version of PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA. The differences between the two first surfaced during Bobby Deol's debut film, BARSAAT when the film bit the dust at the box-office. The two eventually overcame their differences but the spat resurfaced after Santoshi replaced Sunny with Ajay Devgan in LAJJA.

There were fresh differences when the two made films on the same subject of Bhagat Singh. However as Santoshi recently declared, they have written off all their differences and decided to do a film together, next year.

On the other hand, there are rumors that Chandraprakash Dwivedi is looking for another suitable producer to finance his dream project on PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA. Even if he does, Sunny Deol may only look at it from the point of view of enacting the title role. In fact, Sunny had recently revealed in one of his interviews that he was not looking at making any big film, apart from the sequel to BETAAB, after the severe losses he had made in his production. Dwivedi will also have to take a fresh look at who will play the prized role of Samyukta in his film. With Priyanka Chopra clearly denying that she is doing the film, he was looking at approaching Aishwarya once again for the film but according to Ash's business manager, Harri Singh, the question does not arise since he will have to wait for her dates till late 2007.

Meanwhile, Santoshi who had only a month ago ruled out the possibility of working with Aishwarya Rai in PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA, has now confirmed that she will be playing the role in his film. More recently, Hari Singh, Aishwarya's business manager, revealed that Ash was committed to do a film with Santoshi and would honor the commitment.

Santoshi's immediate release is FAMILY, after which follows SAAMNA with Ajay Devgan, followed by LONDON DREAMS with Ajay and Salman. He has scheduled PRITHVIRAJ SAMYUKTA for an early 2007 launch, when Ajay Devgan is also said to have allotted dates to him.
