Deepshikha surprised at elimination

Deepshikha Nagpal and partner Liza Malik were booted out of Dancing Queen last week. Though Deepshikha is surprised with the harsh turn of events, she is happy to have been part of the show and leaves with only good memories of her first reality.



On her ousting, Deepshikha says, "We were told that we didn't get enough votes. That is why we were eliminated. But I have been getting such good responses from my fans and friends. They voted for me and saved me the last time- I got the highest number of votes then. We have also been among the top three on the show."

Deepshikha feels that those who get personal on the show are likely to stick around but the actress refuses to stoop to that level. She says, "People get carried away with emotional stories but I do not want to gain popularity by creating a scene. I am happy the way I am. I am a positive person and will always maintain my dignity. The media too hypes things up and gives things importance that could make the public vote for certain people."

Though the actress is obviously disappointed, she takes the elimination in her stride, saying, "I took the decision very sportingly. I was on the show till episode 20 which is an achievement for me as this was my first reality show. Everyone cried when I left the sets. I have received many compliments for my performances. People gave me a lot of respect." She feels grateful for the experience and is ready to move on. "Dancing Queen was part of my life, but it was not my whole life. I have learnt a lot from it. I wanted to do a reality show so I did it. I accept that everything comes with its drawbacks and I have no complaints," she says.

Explaining what she has learnt and taken away with her from the show, Deepshikha says, "I have learnt to be patient. I have become more confident and strong. I will miss my rehearsals. I have lost a lot of weight and I like dressing up now. Liza taught me how to use Facebook! The entire unit was like a family and they pampered me. It was a fantastic experience and I have made some really good friends."

The last two months have been exhausting for Deepshikha and she now plans to go on a well-deserved break.
