Producer Jaspreet Walia and actor Arjun Rampal flew to Nepal on Friday night to promote EK AJNABEE. Besides promoting the film in the country, special screenings of the Big B-Arjun starrer were also organized for the locals and the funds generated from the screenings will be distributed to charitable organizations in the country.
"The response was fantastic," an elated Arjun informs me, "They cheered and clapped at the right places. The fact that they love Hindi films was more than evident when we reached there. We were mobbed constantly." 2005 has been a landmark year for Arjun, for the actor won praises for his work in VAADA, ELAAN, YAKEEN and now EK AJNABEE. "Sharing the screen space with someone you admire [Bachchan] was in itself a great feeling. Mere words cannot do justice to it.," he states, "At the same time, I am happy that I made an impact in an enterprise that was primarily a Mr. Bachchan film."
Back to EK AJNABEE promotions. Why Nepal? Why not some territories in India or across the Atlantic? "That's because the business in Nepal hasn't been tapped to the fullest. It's a growing market and such exercises will only enhance the prospects of Hindi films further," Jaspreet reveals.
