Hasratein was a very good soap,those days soaps had a very bold concepts and who can think they had smooching and love making scenes back those days only ,the smooch in tara was if i remember national hot topic for almost a month. You can see the difference how an EMA was handled in Hasratein and how tackily its handled in BT soaps ,in that soap u feel for char and see diff POV of KT,Savie and Asmitha but Shefali was so brilliant as Savie,inpsite the fact she played the other women Savie was one well made female character.
we had such good, progressive n realistic serials in 90s like banegi apni baat,tara,hasratein, sailaab, saans n justajoo but i think this ekta mata has really taken us back in times. today everybody is dishing out her kind of crappy serials n we have such mediocre actors also most of them dont act they just ham no wonder all the good actors like shefali chayya, pallavi joshi, renuka shahne, varun badola,neena gupta are hardly seen on tv these days. i think there is more money but absolutely no content on tv these days. we even rem all these serials till now that shows the effect they had on us i dont think we even rem the names of these contemporary shows 6 months after they end.hasratein showd the pov of the other woman so well whereas in all these ekta mata shows all these other woman do is to dress tackily, give over the top expressions and keep plotting till the age of 150 yrs their only aim is to make life miserable for main leads they have no other ambition in life whatsoever
