Technology tie-ups between entertainment content creators and tech providers are fast becoming a global trend. In what is one of the first such instances in India, leading Television Production House Sagar Arts, known for its epic as well as fantasy based TV shows right from Ramayan to the recent Hatim, has entered into a technology tie up with AMD for creating state of the art render farms for Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan which airs Fridays thru Sundays on Star Plus.

The show has been created by the Sagars after 10 years of painstaking research and revolves around the life of the great Rajput warrior king. It involves extensive, detailed set design and quite a lot of cutting edge VFX work.

Divided into five phases, the period drama will trace the life of Prithviraj right from his birth until his death and is based primarily on Chand Bardai's Prithviraj Rasos.

Speaking to Animation 'xpress, Sagar Arts MD Jyoti Sagar commented,"Even as we got into Prithviraj Chauhan we realized that we needed a great amount of computing power to do the kind of 3D and VFX work required for this serial at television budgets. We recognize AMD as a leader in this space and have a strategic technology tie up for processing power and are amazed with the performance"

"In Prithviraj Chauhan we are going to create virtual sets, Palaces (3D and miniature), Crowd multiplication and set extensions. The show being thrice a week, a lot of shots need to be done every week hence we are also creating a render farm using AMD" he added.

AMD Business Development Manager - India Region Arvind Chandrasekar stated"AMD recognizes Sagar Arts as a creative organization doing various "high end of the value chain" efforts in the area of DCC and has the ability and the skills to create and mitigate new platforms, concepts and technologies. The partnership between AMD and Sagar Arts is in recognition of the same. AMD will be providing Sagar Arts with advanced product testing and optimization, early access to upcoming technology and a breadth of other items in line with Sagar Arts endorsing AMD's technology leadership today"

Developments such as the Sagar Arts - AMD technology tie up are indicative of the increase of usage of digitaltechnologies in enhancing as well as better executing content for Media and entertainment. Hi end VFX which was once restricted to the domain of Hollywood features is now finding place in Indian Television shows as well.

In the past couple of years Sagar Post has grown from being an in house division of Sagar Arts to becoming an independent post house. The studio has successfully completed a number of television serials, Film and Live events, like Sri Krishna, Hatim, Khul Ja Sim Sim,Hello Dollie, Akad Bakad Bamba bo, Saarthi, Son Pari, Shakalaka Boom Boom,Sai Baba, Lucky, 1971 and the Frank Sinatra Show.
