Here's your friend Mahi bringing you the....

Yep, it's the Discussion of the week! Let's discuss the importance (or lack thereof) the psychiatrists that are present in schools. Especially in the U.S. all schools are required to hire a psychiatrist that has to be available to students for free if they want to talk about anything.

Let's think about...

Do you think students especially teenagers need to talk to a psychiatrist every now and then?

Especially during the time of a recession, is it really important for each school to have a psychiatrist? Can't the students talk to their parents/friends if they have any regular problems?

Why are psychiatrists necessary anyways? In school they are not allowed to prescribe medicines anyways. They have to send the students to other psychiatrists for sittings before that can be done. So what's your take on it?

Enjoy discussing!

Yea definitely!..actually being a teenager is really not a easy thing at all 😆as they can't make others understand what they want or what their opinions are. They can't talk to the elders as they are younger & elders most often ignore them & even they can't play with a kid & they become introvert sometimes & sometimes loner too.So i feel they really need psychiatris..it'll be helpful & obviously it is good fr their mental growth too.

It is important to have a psychiatris during recession even it's the best time i guess.
I don't think they can share everything with parents & friends are obviously of sama age so how much can they help?..i don't think friends can be always as good as a psychiatris because people make mistakes Mostly when they are leading that teenage life as they can neither solve their problems well nor can share them with parents & sometimes even parents don't want to understand their children.

Psychiatrists are definitely necessary because they can solve many problems in some magical ways which isnt possible for normal people & mental peace is the biggest thing which sometimes a psychiatris can bring to our lives.
I know schools don't allow it but i think it should be allowed. In our school we had one ma'm who used to help just like a psychiatris as she was actually a psychiatris but she was allowed there only because she was a teacher there too.But as we were used to go to her n share our problems so i can say it was great & greatly helpful. So i think it should be in every school as teenagers need it!

Do you think students especially teenagers need to talk to a psychiatrist every now and then? Yes because sometimes its hard to talk to someone at home sometimes over somethings and than if there is no one than the matter usally keeps on killing us inside so i think its needed.

Especially during the time of a recession, is it really important for each school to have a psychiatrist? Can't the students talk to their parents/friends if they have any regular problems? no its not always as easy as we think to talk to a parent or friend because there are sometimes that we have to talk to someone else but not everyone understand tat.

So what's your take on it? psychiatirsits r needed to support students because sometimes ppl feel lonely inspite of having family and friends than its really important to talk to someone I think its fair because obviously parents dont come and school is not like a doctors office so why should they prescribe meds in school plus most schools dont allow children to have meds not even cough drops

Nope. Not for anything other than like school stuff--colleges, academics, seeing my transcript, etc. No outside stuff. thats more guidence counselor--if thats not the same thing.

I agree, and i think school psychiatrists aren't really necessary, actually, their main purpose is to help students with their academic needs--like if they wan't to switch to a different class or something. In some schools it may be necessary, but i don't think so, especially during these times.

Personally, i don't think they are necessary, especially for teenagers who should be old enough to take responsibility for their own actions, and it isn't as if they can't go to someone else for help if they ever need advice. We don't have a "psychiatrist", but we do have a guidance counselor, and they never do much because honestly, in most cases, help is not truly required. Sometimes it is, but the need of a guidance counselor isn't always there. But, of course, dependent upon the situation, it may be.

Wonderful discussion topic👏
