Abhishek Bachchan was not originally supposed to be the Bluffmaster in Rohan Sippy's forthcoming movie. Nor was Priyanka Chopra supposed to play Abhi's love interest.
When Rohan Sippy conceived the idea of making Bluffmaster and after he completed the movie's script, his choice to play the lead of Bluffmaster, a conman, in the film was Sanjay Dutt . Abhishek was supposed to play Sanju's chela (student) in the film.
But things turned out in such a way that Sanju could not spare the required dates and Abhishek was promoted to play the male lead. Ritesh Deshmukh was then roped in to play the role initially meant for Abhishek.
Rohan had made his directorial debut Kuch Naa Kaho with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai . The director had then given his word to the two actors to cast them in his next movie as well.
In fact, such was the case initially. Ash was supposed to play Abhishek's love interest in the movie. But her busy schedule prevented Rohan to start the movie at the right time.
It was in those days Priyanka Chopra got free time for a month-and-a-half due to the cancellation of her shooting schedule for Krrish. Rohan grabbed the opportunity and replaced Ash with Priyanka. Hence, the movie went on the floors as expected.
During the making of the film, its main stars pulled pranks on each other. Almost everyone was at the receiving end of Abhishek and Ritesh's pranks. In fact, the two did not even spare each other. Priyanka, too, pulled one prank on Rohan Sippy.
In one such bluff, Abhishek joked with Rohan that he might as well sing a song for the movie. Rohan took the idea seriously and actually made Abhishek sing one song in the film. The song, 'Right Here Right Now', is Abhi's singing debut.
Moreover, the other songs in the movie are as unusual as the flick itself. The songs are remixes of old hits. The movie features the pepped-up versions of songs like Sabse Bada Rupaiya, Tadbir Se Bigdi Hui Taqdeer, Do Aur Do Paanch and another song titled 'Indi-Yarn' which is a mix of Eena Meena Deeka and Shayad Meri Shaadi Ka Khyaal.
Whether all these interesting tidbits make up as interesting a movie will be known after 'Bluffmaster' hits the theatres on Friday, December 16.
