There a lots of Indians who are moving to different countries in search of better jobs and better standard of living and better education these days.

1. Do you think that this young generation is doing injustice to their own country (India/Pakistan/or any other country) and not using their talent for their own country?
2. Or you think they can still help their own country despite of working outside?
3. Are people staying abroad are more selfish then ones who decide to stay back home with family and live.

The appeal to live and work abroad is not just money as many folks think, it is not so for a lot of us. Recoginition is very key for a young mind. It's like an athlete wants to take part in the Olympics, someone wants to get admitted to Harvard. It is a selfish motive but the recognition that Indian minds gained abroad is what put India on the world map today. To leave your family in search of not just opportunity but appreciation and recognition is hard for a 18-20 year old. To not have family around for most of us at important moments in life is a big sacrifice.

The efforts of those that stay back to make a difference should never be discounted. Some want to achieve greatness and do something for the country. But everyone has a selfish motive- the benefits, the comforts of being close to family, which has nothing to do with the idea os "Swades". It's probably only a difference of strategy. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

How one chooses to help their country it is a matter of choice, as long as they do it.

hey guyz,
yes we all think that india's talent shld stay in india but as an individual we say, oh leave that to the others and we shld fulfill our ambition". there is nothing wrong with that... remember most of the first world countries such as U.S., U.K, Canada and such are recognizing and appreciating the indians that are living and achieving in their countries... does all this recognition account for nothing??? just becuz u moved does not mean that u don't love love or respect your motherland... hum door rehkar bhi india ka naam roshan kar rahe hain. and lets face it india does not have much space nowadays... it is the 2nd most populated country in the world with a population of 1.2 billion and the world just has 6 billion. so don't u think the population shld be more evenly divided???

india is basically being eaten by corruption at the moment..there is no respect 4 merit/hard work/ability/talent...there's no recognition..there's sooo mjuch selfishness everywhere....
nywhere,u go,there's reservation...hatred against some castes....personal vengeance taken...so many things happening...
but when the same talented person is given recogniton/salry and all comforts,y wud he want 2 stay back in r country????????
if india wants ppl abroad 2 do gud 4 thier country, shudn't india help ppl bloom and explore here???

so i don't think there's nything wrong with ppl going abroad-either 4 money or whatever-

1. Do you think that this young generation is doing injustice to their own country (India/Pakistan/or any other country) and not using their talent for their own country? I don't think we should see it in terms of justice or injustice because people have dreams - to study abroad, have a work experience in the U.S. or England. For some people, staying in India, means stifling their dreams. Sad, but true. What is more important is that the people who DO move away give something back to their country - in whatever form they can!
2. Or you think they can still help their own country despite of working outside? Definitely!!! The most important factor which makes people move out of the country in the first place (i'm not saying this is true for everyone) - MONEY!!! And with that money, they can do anything they want. Some people keep it all to themselves - you can't call them selfish because it IS their money. But there are other people, who with their money, can support those parents back in India who were moving from one son's house to another, or placed in nursing homes...this money can give them better lives. Send the money to charity....There are so many poor people who are very intelligent but do not have the money to get a better education. So isn't it better to live in a country outside of India, earn more money, and send it back...than to LIVE in India and lead a pretense life of patriotism. (not saying everyone pretends...but there ARE people who tend to argue that how can a person leave his own country?! well what exactly is HE doing by living in the country?!)
3. Are people staying abroad are more selfish then ones who decide to stay back home with family and live. Of course not!!! ( I already said everything i wanted to above😉)

One cannot change the living conditions of other people,we can only help them to change,we can help others only if we can help ourselves. In India because of Reservations people who really want to help people through civil services, armed services are not able to do so.Even if they get into the servicesthe political parties influence the administration a lot. So!!! Just don't join in govt services. At the end of the day one craves for recognition or money and subsequently satisfaction, its really tough to get recognition, money in Reserved India,so intelligent people are not satisfied. So they are flying to greener pastures like USA,UK,atleast we get money and satisfaction!!
2. Or you think they can still help their own country despite of working outside?

I think these people are only contributing more to their Motherland, infact they overeact sometimes😃

Father ,Mother should be taken care in old age.I really feel pity seeing some Indian parents craving to see their children settled in foreign countries!!!

1. Do you think that this young generation is doing injustice to their own country (India/Pakistan/or any other country) and not using their talent for their own country?
No. Its natural for people to gravitate towards places that have better oppertunities. And more developed countries definitely have better oppertunities to make money and have a higher standard of living. Lets be frank, afterall most people are concerned with money making! With the reservation and the percentage being increased, the bright minds are not getting their recognition in India. Whereas in other places, they are getting it. Isnt it injustice to them that they wont be getting their recognition due to reservation?
2. Or you think they can still help their own country despite of working outside?
Yes definitely. With globalisation, its definitely possible. Working outside, u can help financially. Or learn the skills and come back to help ur country. Its possible, but the question is do they? I dont think so!
3. Are people staying abroad are more selfish then ones who decide to stay back home with family and live.
Well,i dont know selfish is a strong word. I dont think they are selfish because they can do alot for their parents being abroad and sometimes they bring their parents abroad too. In my case, we have been calling my grandparents here soo often but they are the stobborn ones who want to be independant. Moreover, because my dad and his brother work overseas, my grandmother is able to enjoy a luxurious life which may not be possible if we lived in India. But are we self- centered, probably.

Nice topic Sowmyaa
