Thanks for the article link, Sukhi!
Poonam Saxsena is one of the sharpest and most sarcastic of all critics.
And even though she isn't exactly praising Bandini, she does seem to think that it is a new attempt by Balaji and a good one at that!
I haven't watched Kitni Mohabbat Hai, but even that seems to be slightly different from other Balaji Serial's, but the reason why Bandini is getting more attention is probably because it is completely different from all of Ekta's previous works, in every way!
Btw, does anyone have the TRP's of Bandini for the last week? The soap will surely catch the viewer's fancy, but it will take time, since NDTV Imagine is not a very popular channel on its own.
Soapie
PS: I am no SRK Fan but his apperance on Oye Friday was mindblowing to say the least...the guy sure does have a killer sense of humor!

Is she? Well this is her first review that I have read.. anyways agree with you SRK has a killer sense of humor and his parting remarks are a class apart .. he's a very intelligent guy .. that's a lot coming from an absolute NON-srk fan!

hehehehhee

Anyways , even i am waiting for the week-ending TAM reports that show the top 100 shows of the week .. I am sure Bandini is there in the top 100.. just waiting!!

*fingers crossed*

I agree as well with SRK having a WICKED sense of humor. I like SRK and I always loved his wit. I haven't watched the SRK wala OYE ITS FRIDAY yet. Inshallah, Bandini will be in the top 100 tam rating.

One other thing she got spot on, everyone in Mumbai can compete in the Big Bore Awards and I shall give them all 100 out of 100 sevay RR. Only RR will get a big round ZERO from me in this competition.

PS: Actually for me it should be the 'I AM SO NOT BOTHERED' AWARDS and everyone (minus RR) gets full mark from me in this awards.

Wow... she's found some amazing similarities!
She's missed out a few though... I'll happily fill them in -
- In the show, the two central characters get married.
- The characters have 2 eyes, 2 ears, a nose, and a mouth... and believe it or not, they also have bodies, 2 arms and 2 legs 😳
- The show airs on Indian television.
... and more stuff like that 👍🏼
I was watching the Sky News this morning, and I noticed that they did not have the zoom-in and zoom-out sequences... but until I read this article, I did not realise that Sky News was blatently copying Ballika Vadhu 😳
Oh well, at least now I know better... thank you Poonam ji for enlightening me 😊

On a serious note, I think it's kinda crazy to suggest that any show set in Gujarat is an attempt to copy another show that is set in the same place. Zee's Teen Bahuraaniyan and Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaan are also set in urban Gujarat... but rightly, no one suggested that they were copying each other.

However, when it gets to a village setting, we get stuff like this 😆

I don't think that Bandini or Ballika Vadhu are copying any other shows... they are both character driven shows, and so they both rely on their show's characters to take things forward 👍🏼
God bless.

Sammie, all I meant to say was that if you look hard enough, then certain similarities can be found with all shows.

If Dharamraaj and Santo were both 9 year olds, then of course, I would probably be the first to say "hey brother, that's a copying Ballika Vadhu!"

Seeing as the central theme of the show is totally different from Ballika Vadhu, I'm just not in agreement with Poonam ji 😛

If Balaji Telefilms decided to axe the zoom-in zoom-out stuff, then it's probably because they have realised that those techniques are past their best days... but it does not mean that the zoom ins were axed because of Ballika Vadhu! 😆

Who knows, maybe at some point, Bandini might borrow sequences from other places... and at that time, such things will definitely be called! But until that really happens, I think stuff like this is only coming out because the critics are just trying to keep themselves busy, rather than them trying to produce a quality analysis 😳

God bless.

LOLLLZzz you are right Mango Bhai ..

The Bandini people are not trying to convey any social message right now.. and I dont think it is going to be as preachy and disturbing as Balika Vadhu is!

I find it disturbing .. anything TOO close to reality disturbs me ..

I guess you can call me an escapist!
