Hi guyz! This is Archi?s friend?you can call me Devu. I need to apologize to all of you for disappearing for sooooooooooooooooooooo long! But I promise that from now on, I?ll make sure to update every couple of days for as long as possible. I also wanted to say thank you for being so sweet with all the comments. I really appreciate it. Just to clear up the confusion a lot of you had?the characters from this story are in no way related to any of the soaps?they just all happen to be names I love. Part 3

Kajal: Where am I?

Sapna: Hospital?

Kajal: Kyun?

Akash: you?ve been unconscious for 2 days idiot! Keep up! Saying this, he lightly knocked Kajal?s head.

Kajal (gives a small smile): Pshh! Sorry! {Rolls her eyes)

Kajal looks around?notices something, or someone rather, missing.

Kajal: Where?s Rahul? Can?t leave work even to see a buddy in the hospital huh?

Akash: Nope! He didn?t come to see you?cuz technically?aane ke liye jaana padega?and he hasn?t stepped out of this room for the past two days.

At this point, Sapna and Sanju moved to give view of Rahul sleeping peacefully on the couch behind them.

Kajal: WHAT? He stayed here for two days? But?he HATES hospitals!

Sanju: I know! That?s why we all tried to force him to go home with us?especially because the doctor said you couldn?t have visitors?he wouldn?t come though?he said that you might need something if you wake up and might need a bit of help! He didn?t even bother sleeping last night?we?re the once who told him to go get some rest now because all of us were here?he fell asleep within a minute?poor thing?and then you were transferred into this room!

Everyone was looking at Rahul now, and there was a moment of silence. Rahul got up with a startled expression.

Rahul: what?s everone staring at? Where?s Kajal? Did she wake up? What?s going on???

Rahul continued to ramble and Kajal started to interrupt him

Kajal: Rahul??

Rahul: Did the doctor come to see Kajal? What?d he say? Can I see her now?

Kajal: RAHUL!

Rahul continues to ask questions?

Kajal gave an exasperated sigh and gave Akash a look saying that she gave up.

Akash: Rahul?SHUT UP! Dhekho?Kajal yahi hai aur bilkul theek hai!

Kajal, laughing at Rahul?s shocked, embarrassed expression: Hey!

Rahul (completely turning red): umm?how are you feeling now?

Kajal: Much better thanks?

Akash: Acha Rahul?you?re not seeing Kajal for the first time right? So why are you so impatient?

Rahul: Uhhh?voh?mein tho?see? Dost hai meri! What if she needed some help or something? As a friend I need to be here right?

All, except Kajal: Riiiiiteeeee!

Kajal, beginning to look a little embarrassed and uncomfortable now: Can I go home now?

Rahul, still bright red: Uhhh yeah?home?why don?t I?I?ll go find that out!

Still flustered, starts to leave the room, when he bangs into the table and hits his foot

Raul: OW!

Nobody could help from snickering as Rahul wobbled outside.

Doctor?s Office?

Rahul knocks on the door.

Doctor: Come in.

Rahul: Good morning doctor!

Doctor: Oh! Good morning Rahul. Come, sit down.

Rahul: Thanks. Kajal just woke up.

Doctor: Oh that?s great! Listen?do you know what may have caused her to suddenly faint like that?

Rahul: No?well?I mean?the load at work has been kind of overwhelming for all of us?and Kajal?s been looking pretty tired. And now that I think of it, she?s been getting pretty bad headaches quite often lately.

Doctor: Hmm?well that explains quite a bit?

Rahul (looking worried): Is?everything okay?

Doctor: Everything is perfectly normal! Though physically there?s nothing wrong with her, the amount of stress she?s in is dangerous to her health. I have a feeling that she?s not sleeping or eating properly either. As soon as she gets some rest, she?ll come back to her normal, healthy self. She definitely needs that rest though?is there some way she can take a couple of days off work?

Rahul: I?ll take care of it.

Doctor: Good!

Rahul: So, she can go home now?

Doctor: Of course! She can be discharged right away.

Rahul: Thank you doctor.

Kajal?s hospital room?

Everyone was sitting around chatting when Rahul walked in lost in thought.

Karan: Dude, you ok?

Rahul: hmm? Ya I?m fine! Uhh?we can take Kajal home now.

Akash: Ohhhhh ?.is that why you look so upset? Don?t worry beta, I?ll make sure to kick Kajal out soon enough.

Kajal groaned, picked up the pillow that was lying beside her and chucked it weakly at Akash. The pillow missed him by a long shot.

Akash smirked as and said: Is that the best you can do?

Kajal drowsily mumbled: As pathetic as it may sound, yup!

Sapna gave Kajal a sympathetic smile. ?Poor thing? she muttered as she began gathering all of Kajal?s stuff into a bag.

Kajal lay down and before you know it, she was asleep.

Akash: It must be the drugs?

Sanju walked over to Kajal?s bed and gave her a little shake. Kajal groaned a little, and then with a sigh, flopped onto the other side.

Rahul: Did all of you come in one car?

Karan: Yeah?why?

Rahul: And my car?s still here from the night of Kajal?s birthday right?

Sapna: Yeah?

Rahul: Perfect! Why don?t you guys head on back?and I?ll grab Kajal and we?ll follow you guys home. It?s already 10:30 ?we?ll meet up for brunch at about noon?sound like a plan?

Sapna: Great! And brunch can be at our place.

With this plan of action in mind, Akash, Sapna, Karan, and Sanju headed home. Rahul looked at Kajal for a moment, headed towards her to wake her up, and then stopped himself. ?May as well let her sleep for as long as possible? he thought as he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. He then went around completing the formalities needed to discharge a patient. Once all of that was done, he came back into the room. Seeing Kajal sleep so peacefully, he didn?t want to wake her up, and so he scooped her up in his arms. Kajal shifted a little in his arms, and then settled herself comfortably as Rahul began walking out of the hospital.

Rahul was walking down the parking lot looking for his car when Kajal stirred awake. For a moment, she just watched him. He still hadn?t seen her wake up. She couldn?t help but feel touched at how much he was doing for her. She noticed how he had one of his hands placed in a position that was extremely awkward for him, but blocked all the sunlight from her face. ?No matter how many friends come into my life?? Kajal thought, ?no one can compare to Rahul.? Kajal snapped away from her thoughts and noticed that Rahul was muttering something to himself. Kajal listened as Rahul blamed himself for giving her too much work, making her sick, and lastly, giving her the worst birthday possible. Kajal was astonished at how Rahul seemed to be finding some way or another to making every single one of her problems his fault. ?That idiot!? Kajal accidentally muttered aloud.

Rahul suddenly looks down to see Kajal look up at him

Rahul: Oh, sleeping beauty, you?re awake? How long have you been awake for? And why didn?t you tell me? Do you have any idea how heavy you are?

?Oh please! You should feel honoured to carry me. And besides, kidnappers usually have their execution planned out better than this.? Kajal retorted as Rahul stopped walking and helped her get on her feet.

Rahu: Kidnapping? Better-planned execution? What are you talking about? Are you still drugged from all the medication?

Kajal: You were carrying an unconscious girl away?I think that can qualify as a kidnapping. As for the execution?you?re standing here, with your victim, and you have no idea where your car is?

Rahul: I know where I parked my car ok?

Kajal: Suureee?and that?s why you?re walking away from it?

Rahul: huh?

Kajal, pointing to a car down the row from where they were: Isn?t that it?

Rahul: Oh?uhhh?yeah?but?umm...I wanted to?uhhh?

Kajal: Please?give up! Let?s go home?

Rahul: Okay!

The two got into the car and began driving home. Rahul tried making random conversations but didn?t get any replies. He turned around and Kajal had her head leaned against the window and was completely lost in thought. He let her be and continued to drive in silence. Rahul parked in front of Kajal?s house.

Rahul: Buddy, get out of my car!

Kajal: Huh? We?re home? I

Rahul: Apparently!

Kajal: Shut up!

Kajal continued to sit.

Rahul: Well??

Kajal, whining: I?m too tired to walk all the way home.

Rahul: So what am I supposed to do? Carry you?

Kajal: Yup!

Rahul: O please! I tried to help you once already and what did you do? You called me a kidnapper! So?now my child?you can walk home with your own two feet.

Kajal started laughing and then climbed out of the car.

Her laugh brought a smile to his face. Rahul then drove down to the next driveway, which was his own, and parked the car. He got out, locked the doors and then walked into his house. The house was unusually silent. ?Akash must be at Karan?s place?? Rahul figured as he climbed upstairs, taking the stairs two at a time. Upstairs, Rahul opened the partially shut door of Akash?s room. Akash was concentrated on sketching something. At times like this, Rahul knew better than to interrupt him. Rahul then walked down the hall to the washroom. He splashed his face with water to wake himself up a little more. He went into his room and looked at the clock. There was only about 15 minutes to go till the brunch with the gang so there was no point in trying to take a nap. Instead, he decided to take a quick shower.

Akash looked at the time. Karan and Sapna were probably waiting for them now. Akash quickly changed and was soon ready. He could hear that Rahul was still in the shower, so he decided to leave first. Rahul knew where they were meeting. Akash jogged across the street and went to the backyard where a lot of food was being set up on a round table. From the window, Akash could see Karan, Sapna, and Sanju chatting in the kitchen while more food was being made. Akash grabbed a bagel from the table and walked into the kitchen.

Sapna: Hey Akash!

Akash: Hey! What?s all the food for? I mean?I know we?re pigs?but that?s a LOT of food right there?

Sapna: I know! But because of the Kajal situation?no one was in the mood to eat for the past two days? and I need to get rid of this food!

Karan: Is food the only thing that you two can talk about? God! Akash?have you talked to Rahul yet?

Akash: No I haven?t gotten the chance yet?but?

Sapna interrupts: Talked to Rahul about what?

Akash: Karan, you didn?t tell her?

Karan: Sapna, I?ll tell you later ok?

Sanju: Hey! Nobody told me either! What?s going on?

Akash: Sanju-

Karan: Everybody SHUT UP! Kajal?s coming?nobody say ANYTHING!

Akash: Crap! Yeah guys?act natural?we?ll explain everything later!

Just then, Kajal walks in to see everyone staring at her.

Kajal: Umm?what?s going on?

Akash: Nothing! How are you feeling?

Karan, at the same time: You look lovely today!

Kajal: Umm?o?.k?I?m feeling better?and thanks?why are you guys acting so weird?

Karan: Weird? We?re not acting weird at all!

Kajal looked over to Sapna and Sanju, who seemed to be as confused as she was. In the meantime, Rahul was crossing the street. Rahul stops to grab a glass of juice and then walks into the kitchen.

Rahul: Sorry I?m late! What?d I miss?

Kajal: I?m actually not sure?

Rahul: Huh?

Akash: Nothing!

Karan: Yeah?let?s go eat!

The six walked out and sat around the table. Everyone, besides Kajal began pigging out.

Karan: Kajal, are you on a starvation diet or something?

Sapna: Yeah?why aren?t you eating?

Akash: The food really isn?t all that bad you know?

Kajal: GUYS! Relax?I?m just not all that hungry

Rahul: You?re eating.

Kajal: I said I?m not hungry?I?ll eat later! Promise!

Rahul: Sure?eat later?but you?re eating now as well!

Kajal, beginning to whine: But I?m not hungry!!!!!

Rahul: Do you see me caring?

Sanju: Rahul?why are you forcing her? Her appetite?s probably off because of the medication and stuff?

Rahul: Yeah?I REALLY don?t want to spend another couple of days at the hospital.

Everyone: huh?

Rahul: Remember when I talked to the doctor? He said Kajal fainted because she?s been skipping meals, not sleeping enough, stress, etc. So now I?m going to make sure that this kid eats and sleeps whether it means giving her sleeping pills or force-feeding her.

Akash: And what about the stress?

Rahul: Aaah?that?s another announcement that I?m saving for later.

Sanju! I HATE suspense! Tell us now?please?

Rahul, smiling evilly: umm?.NOPE!

Everyone, angrily: RAHUL!

Rahul: Oh god! You guys take the fun out of everything! Fine! I?ll tell you! You guys are officially on leave for two weeks, starting the end of next week, and we are all going to the my family cottage for a group vacation.

Everyone was in shock! They couldn?t believe that Rahul, Hitler Junior, had actually taken days off work for everyone and had planned a vacation! This was incredible! None of them could help but notice that this was all being done for Kajal.

?Awww he?s being so sweet!? Kajal thought. ?I still can?t believe that he blames himself for making me sick?and now planning all this???!

Kajal: Rahul?you know you didn?t have to do all this right? It?s not like I was about to go insane or anything?I just got a little less sleep last week. A little bit of extra relaxation this weekend would have made me completely fine!

Rahul: Dude?relax?it was really no big deal!

Karan: So what?s the plan boss?

Rahul: All right?so today?s Saturday right? So?everything?s normal this week. Friday evening we start driving down to my cottage?it?s about a 7-hour drive from here. So, we?ll be getting there sometime Saturday. We stay there all of that week. The Saturday after that, we head home sometime after lunch?and then we?ll be back sometime Sunday?and then it?s back to work Monday morning!

Akash: Other than that last part, everything sounds perfect!

At this, Karan started laughing and Rahul lightly punched Akash?s arm. The girls were already getting excited and planning the different things they could do at the cottage.

Rahul: But listen guys?

Akash: I knew there was a catch?I just knew it!

Sapna: Shut up Akash! What were you saying Rahul?

Rahul: we?re going to have to work extra extra hard this upcoming week to make up for all the lost time, as well as since Kajal won?t be there.

Everyone looked confused.

Kajal: Wait a second! Where exactly am I going?

Rahul: I took this week off for you too?

Kajal: Rahul-I seriously don?t need this extra week off?and besides?with all of you gone, I?m going to be so bored at home.

Rahul: Too late!

The rest of the morning was spent with food and small talks. Somewhere in between all this was a food fight, a water fight, a couple of games, and planning for upcoming trip. Soon after, everyone decided split up and go home.

Rahul left first saying that he was tired. Kajal started cleaning up, but was forced to go home because she looked like she needed some rest too. Akash was about to leave when Karan grabbed his arm and stopped him.

Karan muttered: Make sure you talk to him sometime tonight.

Akash replied that he will and left.

Sapna: Will you please tell us what?s going on now?

Sanju, getting impatient for Karan?s reply, started cleaning up.

Karan: Ok listen?me and Akash are going to find out once and for all what?s going on between Kajal and Rahul.

Sanju: They love each other?isn?t it obvious.

Sapna: Yeah?I mean?what?s there to really ask?

Karan: We?ve been teasing them and bugging them for years now?and there seems to be no progress so either there?s nothing there and we need to stop hallucinating?or they REALLY need some help to get this ball rolling!

Sapna, laughing: true?

Sanju: And besides?Rahul?s answer could potentially provide some really great blackmail potential!

Karan: Exactly!

Sapna: Actually now I?m getting really excited! When is Akash planning on talking to Rahul?

Karan: Actually Akash has been trying all week?but something?s always come up! He?s going to try again tonight!

The cleaning up had been done by this time and Sanju was ready to go home! ?Text me as soon as you find out!? Sanju exclaimed with a little excited hop.

Meanwhile, Akash had been gathering up courage to walk into Rahul?s room. He?d been making up excuses not to go for the past 2 hours now?and it was finally time to face the music. Rahul climbed upstairs?and stood for another five minutes outside of Rahul?s shut door. Akash knocked twice, and curious as to why there was no reply, he opened the door and glanced in. Rahul was looking down, out his window, and was lost in his own thoughts.

Akash: Rahul??

Rahul turned, startled: Hey! I didn?t even hear you come in?sorry! What?s up?

Akash: Um?I kind of wanted to?ask you something?

Rahul walked over to his bed and sat, facing the nervous Akash: And that would be??

Akash: Um?it?s kind of?uhh?.
