Spoiled rock star Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) has been assigned to be in charge of dance classes for one month at Camp Rock by his bandmates Jason (Kevin Jonas) and Nate (Nick Jonas). Shane hears Mitchie singing, and falls in love with the voice, but does not know the identity of the singer. Shane spends much of the movie searching for the girl with the voice. Shane and Mitchie have various interactions, and, when Shane learns of the person she pretends to be, a romance between the two blossoms until he finds out that she was lying about who she was. But when he realizes that Mitchie is the girl that he had heard singing. re-instates their relationship. Peggy, one of Tess' posse, wins "Final Jam" and the chance to record a song with Shane.

The Cast

Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) Mitchie is a 14 year old girl who hopes to be a singer some day. Her dream is to go to Camp Rock, but her family cannot afford the camp because they're not wealthy. The only way she could go was if her mother would be the cook, and she tries to hide that fact by lying about her background. She is so excited when she meets Tess Tyler, the total snob of Camp Rock but she told a lie about her mother so she can hang out with her.

Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) Shane is a 18 year old famous lead singer of "Connect 3." He is sent to Camp Rock, in hopes that it would help him, and get rid of his arrogant attitude. At the camp, a voice that he enjoys, and spends most of his time trying to find the girl who sang (who is really Mitchie.) Later, he meets Mitchie, and they become friends, until her secret is revealed that she lied to him. She panics,but he just wants to start over again.

Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) Tess is the daughter of the famous T.J. Tyler, and one day wishes to be a singer, like her mother. She is a snob, and often gets her way, even if she has to be mean to people. She wants all the attention, mostly because her mom was often too busy with her own career to care for her and she has no time for her.

Caitlyn Gellar (Alyson Stoner) Caitlyn is Mitchie's friend at camp, and is one of the few people who stick by her side when Tess reveals Mitchie's secret, and is the only girl who isn't mean or rude to Mitchie. She tries to tell Mitchie not to be friends with Tess, but Mitchie is too over obsessed with being popular and thinking for the best of it. She wants to be a music producer, and is often seen composing music on her laptop, and dancing her heart out.

Ella (Anna Maria Perez de Tagle) She is Peggy's best friend and a little air-headed and is often seen as the dumb one. Ella abandons Tess when she pushes her too far, and instead sings with Baron and Sander at Final Jam, revealing herself to be a good singer.

Margaret "Peggy" DuPree (Jasmine Richards) Ella's best friend, and often follows Tess, even when her own opinion is different. In the end, she finally rebels, and sings on her own at Final Jam, winning the contest to record with Shane, and surprising everyone with her voice.

Connie Torres (Maria Cannals Barrera) Connie is Mitchie's mom, and also runs a family catering service called "Connie's Catering." Mitchie was, at first, embarrassed that her mother was the Camp Cook.

Barron James (Jordan "J-Man" Francis) Barron is a great dancer, and is best friends with Sander. He also raps, and sings at Final Jam with Sander, and Ella. He is one of the few that stuck with Mitchie.Together,they made a great song called Hasta La Vista.

Sander Loya (Roshon Fegan) Sander is also a dancer, and also likes to rap. His best friend is Barron, and the two sang at Final Jam with Ella. He was also one of the few that stayed by Mitchie's side.Together,they made a great song called Hasta La Vista.

Lola Scott (Aaryn Doyle) Lola is a singer. She is great friends with Caitlyn, and Mitchie. Even though she is a talented singer, she was not seen performing at Final Jam. She also stuck with Mitchie when her secret was revealed.

Brown Cessario (Daniel Fathers) Brown is Shane's uncle, and also runs Camp Rock. He also said he was the bassist of a band called the "Wet Crows."

Nate (Nick Jonas) Shane's best friend and member of "Connect 3" often seen as the smart, normal one.

Jason (Kevin Jonas) Shane's other best friend and member of "Connect 3", often seems as the Guy one.

I honestly must say that I waited nights for this movie to priemere, because the advertisements had a very good effect on me. They made me want to see the movie really badly, and when it did priemere, I wasn't dissapointed. But later, I started actually thinking about the movie, and it's pros and cons. Mitchie Torres, the main character of the film, is a young teenage girl with dreams to make it big in the music world. She is psyched that she can go to Camp Rock under the condition that her mother be the cook, and that she helps out in between classes. Intimidated by the rich snob kids at camp, Mitchie lies about who she is.

That's the only negative I have to say, but other wise, Camp Rock was a completely original and interesting movie. I recommend it for all those who haven't seen it yet. Especially for those who are Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Anna Marie Perez De Tagle, and Jasmine Richard fans... It's not perfect, but no movie can be...right?

Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) is a teenage girl who hopes to be a singer when she grows up. Her father, Steve owns a hardware store and her mom, Connie (Maria Canals Barerra) runs a catering business. Mitchie dreams about going to Camp Rock but her parents can't afford to send her there. However, Mitchie's mother gets the job of catering food at Camp Rock which allows Mitchie to go there at a discounted rate if she helps out in the kitchen. Mitchie is initially excited to arrive at Camp Rock but when she meets Tess Tyler (Meaghan Jette Martin) the diva of Camp Rock, she feels ashamed of the fact that her mother is the camp cook. On a spur of the moment decision, she blurts out that her mother is the president of Hot Tunes TV, China. Tess and her two best friends, Ella (Anna Maria Perez De Tagle) and Peggy (Jasmine Richards) are impressed and invite Mitchie to share their cabin. Excited by the thought of being popular, Mitchie abandons her first friend at Camp Rock, Caitlyn (Alyson Stoner) and even agrees to be a backup singer instead of singing solo for Final Jam.

On the other hand, spoilt rock star, Shane Gray (Joe Jonas) has been sent to be an instructor at Camp Rock by his band-mates, Nate (Nick Jonas) and Jason (Kevin Jonas). They believe that all the fame has gone to Shane's head and he needs some time to clean up his act. Shane is initially disgruntled by this decision but when he hears Mitchie singing in the mess hall, it reminds him of the kind of music that he liked. However, he doesn't know who the identity of the voice is and he spends most of his time trying to find out who the mystery singer is.

Shane and Mitchie gradually become good friends but Shane doesn't know that Mitchie is the singer that he's been looking for. Caitlyn discovers the fact that Mitchie has been lying about her mom's profession but being the good friend that she is, she doesn't tell anyone. Unfortunately, Tess is jealous of Mitchie's talent and the fact that Shane seems to be falling for her and she starts to spy on her. What will happen when Tess sees Mitchie coming out of the kitchen, hugging the cook goodbye and calling her "Mom?" More importantly, how will Shane react when he finds out that Mitchie has been lying to him and everyone else all summer? Will Mitchie still be able to sing in Final Jam after Tess plays a crafty trick to have her and Caitlyn disqualified? Who will win the Final Jam and get the opportunity to record a song with Shane Gray? And will Shane ever find out that Mitchie is the girl he heard singing in the mess hall at the first day of camp?

Demi Lovato does a fine job in her first movie as Mitchie and Joe Jonas throws his heart and soul into his character. Alyson Stoner does justice to her role and Meaghan Martin is perfect as the mean girl of camp. Kevin and Nick Jonas shine in their minor but essential roles as Shane's band-mates.

The music of the movie is outstanding. The best songs of the film are easily 'This Is Me' which is a duet by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas and Gotta Find You, a soulful and poetic song by Joe Jonas. 'Play My Music' is a fast, upbeat track which has the classic Jonas Brothers touch to it. 'Who Will I Be' is a rocking and energetic song by Demi Lovato and the rest of the songs are extremely well-written and definitely have potential to be listened to over and over again.
