That's what I'm hoping for Maya. I'll be very disappointed if both movies are similar, but I dont think they are.

Karan came out and gave a statement negating that claim. He said just coz the theme is similar, doesnt mean that the movies are the same. They just have the same topic, but the stories are completley different.

Rensil's movie is a politial thriller but so is New York.

^I hope so too. I am not keen on John or Katrina but I am looking forward to New York simply because of the teaser. It looks really promising and John is surely coming into the top with that one.

I dunno. I saw the teaser and I wasnt too impressed. Partly coz it looks very similar to the Pakistani movie that came out a while back, Khuda Ke Liye, and it had a pretty similar storyline. And whenever John talked, me and my friend just burst out laughing! I dunno why, its just his acting is not the best. I felt Neil was far more natural and his performance seemed more solid. As good as John looks...he's not the best actor out there. Even when he was screaming, my friend would start laughing, and I felt compelled to do the same. And the movie had too much of a Yash Raj feel going for it to be that hard hitting. They should've taken those elements out if they were going for a hard hitting subject. I know that in Rensil's movie the looks are kept very realistic. Kareena's going for the deglam look and thats why she's also put on weight, to have a more common figure.

Saif's got this very sharp look, and I dont think the movie has any songs. They are really stickign to the hardhitting appraoch for that one, while for New York, they added too much fluff and all in the beginning.

Well! Saif was rated the same once upon a time. People laughed at him the same way like you are doing for John now. It took Saif years to change his image. I am sure John is already there. He has improved a lot.

I loved the teaser and didn't find anything funny in that. It would be foolish if KJo goes ahead with same storyline. If it's different then good.

Exactly I never saif Saif was always this good, but he wasnt "bad" either. People laughed at him coz he looked goofy, lol, and lets not forget his wonderful dances from back in the 90s, lol! Even I burst out laughing when I watch those. But his acting was decent.

Saif has much more experience now and there's no doubt that he's one of the bests we have. The guy worked his butt off for years to get where he is today and it wont be wrong to say he's lightyears ahead of John in terms of acting.

He also had to take the tougher route. John's gifted with great looks. Saif had to experiment and groom himself over the years. He had to climb up the ladder of success slowly. It wasnt until 2000 that he was offered some good quality movies. And evne in those he had to star as the side kick for more additional years before he was finally able to deliver solo. I have a lotta respect for someone who puts in so much effort, dedication and hard work. Perhaps I wouldnt have admired him as much if he had it easy.

I wasnt impressed wiht the first promo of New York. I have to wait and see if I change my mind wiht additional promos. Its not just me, none of my friends were impressed either. ANd they are a mix of girls and guys with varied tastes in bollywood. They were much more impressed wiht Gajini's promo.
