When Night Falls... (twilight) ONE SHOT!

I looked out the window to see the snow falling on the empty street, everyone tucked in there house ready for Christmas tomorrow; finally I saw Charlies car come up the drive way letting out a sigh of relief I made my way to the kitchen getting dinner ready for him.

"Sorry am so late bells…there was so much paperwork left.." Charlie spoke hanging up his gun, "it's alright dad…" I spoke softly playing with the magnets on the fridge.

It had been nearly 4 months since Edward had left, I recalled his words that afternoon in the forest 'it'll be as if I never existed…' if he had never existed then why did I feel that my heart had be ripped out and taken away from me? Why did I feel like I was trapped in a body with no soul? I was brought out of my thoughts when Charlie walked in the kitchen "so.. What's for dinner bells?... You know I feel guilty making you have to cook.." he said sitting down at the table, "dad its better for everyone that you don't cook…. And I made lasagne… like mum did every Christmas eve…" I said the last bit softly, he looked at me and then shrugged, I took the Lasagne out of the microwave and gave it to him, while i went and sat down on the other chair at the table.

It was all silent as he ate dinner, I was to busy caught up in my thoughts of Edward..

I saw Charlie standing up to put the dishes in the sink, "it's alright.. I'll do the dishes…" I said standing up out of my chair, "no.. Go to sleep bells.. It's late and don't you wanna wake up early tomorrow to open your pressies?... I'll do the dishes.." I stared at him, nodded heading towards the stairs "and dad.. I'm not a little kid any more…" I spoke "your still my little girl, night Bella.." "night…" I said trudging up the stairs to my room .

I sat in bed reading Wuthering Heights for nearly the hundredth time, though was I really concentrating? I didn't concentrate on anything these days other than school, I didn't concentrate on keeping my friends; Mike, Jess, Lauren… they all just drifted away, well I drifted away; it was like there was no point in life and Jake? I missed him yet I couldn't find the strength in my self to go up to La Push to see him.

Angela and Eric were always there but after a while they too gave up on trying to talk to me…

I was just to stubborn…

I put down the book and crawled deeper into my bed, before turning the lights off I closed my eyes and wished for a Christmas surprise, it was first I didn't normally believe in things like this but with Vampires and Werewolves walking the earth anything could happen…

I heard Charlie shouting my name from the other side of the door, I hesitantly opened my eyes to see few rays of sun through the curtains; rubbing my eyes I sat up and went towards the door, "Merry Christmas!" he said immediately as I opened the door, since when had he become so cheery? "Merry Christmas dad!" I said following him down the stairs.

"here you go.." he said giving me a box, I looked at it… It was big… and I wasn't a big fan of presents, "c'mon open it.." I unwrapped the ribbon from the lid and opened it to see 2 tickets alone in the box, taking the tickets out I looked at Charlie who was smiling, "ughh thanks?" I said, "there tickets for you to go see your mum.. When ever you want until next Christmas… I thought you could get out and go to the sun for a bit.." he said, "aww… really dad thanks…" he nodded, I took his present from under the tree and gave it to him, it wasn't too flash but he seemed to have liked it…

We sat at the table eating eggs from breakfast, it was quiet between the two of us "oohhh I nearly forgot… this came for you in the morning…" I looked at him confused, why would the postman drop anything on Christmas day? "what is it?" I asked, "a letter… I think…" he said getting up to go get it, as he came back he handed me a letter with my name on the front:

It was good Charlie had left the kitchen by then, I nearly fainted in shock… I knew exactly who it was from, no one these days has hand writing as such; after so many months I didn't know whether to be angry or happy, I stared at the envelope for a few minutes still deciding whether to open it or not. What the hell… just open it my conscience said, as I ripped open the envelope and took the paper out, I could smell his scent just as if he was standing millimetres away from me.

I know I shouldn't be doing this, and I know I was the one to say to forget about me…

But I can't seem to forget you, I thought that if I saw you happy then that would make me happy..

I can't stop my self from you anymore Bella… I've tried everything…

I thought it was for the best…

But I can't see you like this Bella…

At 12 o'clock tonight, meet me at the front of the house…

Edward

When I finally woke up, the clock read 11 o'clock… how had I gone to sleep for so long? Only God knew that… making my way up to my room I opened my closet doors..
What to wear? I couldn't just wear my old ratty sweats and a t-shirt tonight, I was meeting Edward… though I knew that no matter what I wore I'd still look normal compared to the angelic god like man who stood before me…

Charlie arrived at quarter past 11, going straight to his room before I knew it I could hear his snoring from the kitchen. I got a glass from the cabinets and filled it with water, I could feel my heart beating louder than usual and I was getting butterflies in my stomach, I think I needed to sit down.

I rested my head on the table taking in deep breathes, it was going to be alright I thought, it's just Edward… just Edward.. JUST EDWARD? What the hell was I thinking? This was the man of my dreams, this was the man I wanted to spend forever with, this was the man I couldn't live a single moment without… and yet he was just Edward.

I softly opened the large white door, hoping it wouldn't make a creaking sound not like Charlie would wake up… but still, I went and stood out at the front steps looking around in the tree's to see if I could stop him. But I didn't have super eye sight like the rest of the Cullen clan, wiping the snow of the front step I sat down pulling my jumper closer around me.

"Bella?" his soft voice spoke, I didn't even notice when he came and there he stood before me I had an urge to run up to his arms and never let go, but I was to chicken to do that, all I did was stand up and whisper his name "Edward…" he looked at me with his deep golden eyes, "I shouldn't have come.." he said, "this was wrong.. I can't help my self but to pull you in my arms…" I took a step forward, "then why don't you?" "Bella… I really shouldn't have done this… Stupid Alice why did I have to listen to her?.. .this was suppose to be the best thing for you…" he spoke, "you're the best thing for me… " I said touching my hands on his cold chest, his hands cupped my cheek as he pulled me in for a kiss, as I parted I took in a breathe; I had been imagining this moment for months and it was better than all dreams, I looked up to face him but my eyes caught something on the roof above our heads. There hung a small mistletoe, it was perfect I let a big smile while Edward looked at me confused , he looked up and too let out a chuckle I brought my eyes back to his face pulling myself in for another kiss, it was a perfect moment, as he held me in his arms he softly spoke into my ear "you should get into bed… or your going to get hypothermia… " I looked at him, "only if you come too…" he looked at me for a second then nodded.

For the first time he walked with me hand in hand up the stairs and into my room, and as I changed into my PJ's I thanked the Gods above for granting me my Christmas Wish…

This was going to be a night to remember.. One that would be in my memories forever…
