Angad-Kripa V/s. Pratham-Gauri.

Now, I had this urge to post since I haven't been posting much in the past one week. So, before I go to study, I thought I'll torture you all again with my brainwaves ( my brain becomes functional during exams). So, here we go again……..

So, talks are doing rounds on IF and everywhere outside that KYPH is going to be a classy and chemical copy of Kutumb and that we have another Pratham-Gauri in the making as our demented duo Angad-Kripa take the holy divinity bound matrimonial vows and unite in marriage of true minds ( That's what Shakespeare used to say). Most of us feel that Angad-Kripa are going to repeat the famous history of Pratham-Gauri and even though there have been many warring couples on tellyworld in the past, I am relating Angad-Kripa to Pratham-Gauri simply because the latter are CLASSIC VINTAGE in this department and nobody has beaten them till date and I guess now, Angad-Kripa are next in line for the FightClub Rockers title.

Yet, Angad-Kripa are a FAR cry from Pratham-Gauri. Here's why……..

ANGAD V/s. PRATHAM.

Hmmm…..these two notorious brats may seem on equal planes but they are not. Pratham was a typical cool dude with a bloated ego who wasn't your quintessential definition of a "bad boy". He was a pampered egoistic guy who believed in having his own way, come what may. He wasn't passionate or intense…he was deviously headstrong, domineering and yes, he never forgave and he never forgot. Gauri can tell you that in the best possible way.Pratham was all mischief and cute egotism. His face always carried a smug joie-de-vivre and a smirk that reflected his I-care-a-damn –so-come-to-me attitude. On the other hand, we have Angad…….a man who was a distressed man from day 1 who found solace in a hedonist existence and masked his loneliness behind his Goliath persona and his arrogance. Angad is symbolized by fire……..passionate, intense, fiery and always ready to leap forth. Pratham was never vulnerable , his iron bones didn't let him be but Angad is vulnerable enough for Kripa to tear through his Great-Wall-Of-China defences. Angad is all passionate strength wrapped around a cotton-silk heart. Pratham was cocky, Angad is that too, but in superlative terms. Pratham caused hurt but mostly escaped from feeling the pain but Angad believes in the Cinder Theory….if he burns something, he goes up in smoke himself too.Angad is ten times more volatile and vulnerable than Pratham was.Pratham believed in disturbing people and Angad himself is a disturbed man who causes devastation all around and devastates himself too.

KRIPA V/s. GAURI.

Kripa and Gauri are as far apart as the North Pole and the South Pole. Gauri symbolized new-age feminism, strength, spine and her massive ego made Pratham's bloated ego look like a baby in front of hers. She never broke in front of Pratham except once and she was a very difficult woman to woo and Pratham can write an entire journal on it. For Gauri, her self-respect and dignity was everything and she bowed in front of Pratham, the man she loved and not Pratham, the man who outraged her modesty. Infact, she is the only K-heroine you can talk about without getting confused. On the other hand, Kripa…..well, Angad has always been too big for her to fathom, understand and fight. Add to it, her soul-rooted love for him, she has been in love with him as far as she can remember. All her defenses have always beaten the dust in front of Angad, simply because he can stir up something in her which nobody else can. Kripa is a strong girl ( who else would have the guts to mess with that rock?) but life's tragedies turned her into a zombie and all her innocence was lost and it'll stay so until Angad and his love restore it back to her. Kripa is a fragile flower, Gauri was a tree with roots breaking through the soil. I don't think Kripa will ever have the iron spine that Gauri had. It's not that Kripa is not capable of it, it's just that her entire existence is centered around Angad and this man puts everything wild and fuming inside her to rest.

COMPARING THE A-K AND P-G EQUATION

Comparing Angad-Kripa with Pratham-Gauri is like asking who rocks more, Mercury or Venus? A-K are a far cry from P-G in every possible way. Angad-Kripa are everything that's intense, passionate, eccentric, profound, violent, hurtful, devastating and are mutually united in souls. There's too much of pain and history between them. On the other hand, Pratham-Gauri were everything that's cocky, spunky, mischievious, in-your-face, competitive, abrasive, sarcastic and a clash of egos. While Pratham could lock Gauri in a bathroom and hear her scream on cockroaches , Angad would not be so light with Kripa, if he has to hurt her, it has to be something powerful simply because the latter demented duo doesn't understand any other language and the word "normal" doesn't exist in their dictionary. There was always something very innocent about P-G but there's nothing innocent about A-K, they have put those sunshine days down in black books and thus, have to make a start all over again to search for their lost Love Paradise.

A-K are into a clash of hearts where a lot of confessions, apologies and tears need to be exchanged before they go back to pink roses and unite into an ever-lasting union of hearts and souls, while P-G were into a cute clash of egos which led them into a beautiful union and inseparable existence.

I had never seen any love-couple like Pratham-Gauri and all the follow-ups couldn't match their firebrand charm. I have never seen any love-couple like Angad-Kripa either, I had no idea that two people so intensely in love can rip each-other like this and I don't think I'll see a repeat of this violent sensitivity in near future.

But hey, one thing is common between Angad-Kripa and Pratham-Gauri…..THE CHEMISTRY LABORATORY.😳😛😉

I love both the couples. Since U are talking abt my two fav couples, I had to reply 😳 Awesome comparision. I also noticed one thing, Pratham was always family oriented. He never fought with his family for Gauri. He had a strong family foundation, which Angad lacks.Which is Y he is more vulnerable. I liked Pratham's character becuse he never confused me. I smiled when he did stupid stuff to tease Gauri. whereas Angad is a little meaner. He makes the ppl around him cry. There is nothing he does that doesn't evoke strong reactions. Like the lift scene was damn cute and the pub scene where he spurned Kripa, I wanted to break his head

I dont remember ever wanting to break Pratham's head😆

Wonderful Nitica! I haven't a clue as to what pratham/gauri's story is, but whatever you say for A-K makes sense. I don't understand how they find in their guts to hurt the other so bad either. 😛

KYPH_Fan sorry that am not quoting you as long quotes are to be avoided as per the rules. I agree with you. I loved Pratham's protective nature towards his family.It was admirable, especially coming from a brat.

I think the reasons both the pairs have to work their respective brains against each other are very different....what drives Angad and Kripa to hurt each other is much grave than what led Pratham and Gauri hurt each other.
I think as KYPH FAN said the Lift scene and the relationhip that Angad and Kripa shared then was more like Pratham and Gauri. Now its way to different.

But i like both..

👏nitu di...very fine post..u cleared everything in our mind regarding these couples chemistry ,persona..and their on screen reality...well di totally agree with ya..i never compared these two couples in front of my eyes..as these two set up their own story which is undefinable..i cannot relate pg with ak...pg whole story was diff and ag have diff...so no point of comparison..and initially very diff characters...but then also if my friends r fearing of again coming kutumb style story in kyph..then i think they should fresh up thier minds...thats all i wud like to say in my turn of speaking....well just enjoy the show sweeties...dont look upon the questions that what will be the story like or which kind of story is gonna repeat..just watch the show and maze me rehne ka...never look up to comparisons...arre our angad and kripa r incomparable...so no comparison guys...just watch and enjoy the heart wrenching chemistry of these two weird lovers..really their love defines that kaisa yeh pyaar hai... 😳 😃

Valid points Nits .... Thks for doing this comparison, enjoyed it loads. like u said : every one has been drawing paralells b/w these 2 couples. And that is to be expected .

But, if u ask me the incandescent intensity that Kripa & Angad share in their ongoing battles makes Pratham and gauri's delicious interactions seem like 'minor skirmishes'. Which of P-G's scenes can ever match what we saw day before y/day? The thinly veiled anger when angad was mercilessly questioning kripa abt her satisfied life with Prithvi? Or the reluctant but Resounding 'NO' wrenched frm kripa? None ... its just not the same intensity or rawness with the other couple ... Pratham & Gauri seemed like 2 adolscent teens - fighting a bout of immaturity compared to the emotional scarring these 2 inflict every time they share the same frame.

To top that, Angad's volatile emotions ( be they his jealousy, his possessivness or his soul stirring anger) make the hair on the nape of my neck stand up ... 😉 Pratham, while being damn good, never made me feel this way!!! Offcourse ... the eye candy ( I know I am shameless to admit this ) is 10 times as much : Although, P& G made a beautiful & attarctive couple as well. But Angad's sexiness is the perfect complement for kripa's pixie like and ethereal womanliness.

Plus, When P& G fought - I liked it, I enjoyed it. But, it kinda never un-nerved me personally , like A-K scenes do. To me, Angad has always seemed somehow more intense and more complex to me ... : OK, A bad Ass, yes, but beyond that a much more unpredictable, volatile and deep man, perfeclty complemented by Kripa's deeply rooted beliefs, sense of right and wrong - which is something I find very very appealing. That is something that I can never say that Pratham Mittal had: Like ur ritely said, he was an egoist and a spoilt brat - but when he grew up ( and that too during his marriage to Gauri) the wrinkles were pretty much ironed out: End of Complication. Happy ending for P-G.

But with Angad somehow I feel the complex layers just keep on coming : u read him on one level & he confounds u - hypnotises u, stupfies or blindsides u on another level. And - this is the real issue - his complexity has no end - and something tells u that marriage is not going to iron out these wrinkles .. they will somehow always be there, even though he has met his match in Kripa.

Plus, while a lot has happnd to this A-K, before they ever got hitched: Life has taught them bitter lessons- which has toughened them & embittered them both & (here is the paradox!) taken them far away frm each other - instead of amazingly bringing them close. This Paradox makes them win hands down over P-G.

While P-G were my fav on screen couple , A-K are now the reigning kind & queen of conflict in my books... 😛
