I agree. Our great leaders like Gandhi and Nehru fought for a secular democracy. They took pride in the fact that India was the home to many religions and cultures. Then why is there a predominant Hindu discourse on saregama? Even the mottos of each ghar is Hindu. I respect that judges seem to respect singers of every nationality and religion. It is great to see them give compliments to non-Hindus when they use the term for God that is relevant to that person's beliefs. (Example, Allah for a Muslim, Sai for Sai Baba followers, Guru Nanak for Sikhs, even particularities for Hindus using different gods).

It's just that there seems to be this implicit pressure of the predominant Hindu presence. I would be just a slight bit initimidated if I weren't Hindu. (Example, Om decorations when Pratibha was singing her bhajan. And her song didn't even point directly at a Hindu figure or divinity. I didn't see the other performances that day, but hopefully they changed it based on the song).
