Urmila at Dubai Film Fest!

Actress Urmila Matondkar couldn't go to Pakistan's Kara Film Festival. But she sure is headed for the film fest in Dubai.

Urmila and filmmaker Jahnu Barua have reportedly flown to Dubai for the screening of their film Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara .

Jahnu Barua is an acclaimed Assamese filmmaker who has made several National Award winning films. Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara is his first feature film in Hindi.

Before Dubai, Urmila was also invited to the recently concluded Kara Film Festival (in Karachi) for the screening of the same film, but she couldn't go because of her busy schedule. The film's main actor Anupam Kher has won the best actor award at the festival.

In Dubai, Urmila will walk the red carpet in fashion designer Manish Malhotra 's creation.

An IANS report quotes Urmila as saying: "I keep missing out on these international festivals. I was invited to be on the jury for the Singapore Film Festival in the last week of November. But my dates clashed…Then, earlier this month I missed taking 'Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara' to the film festival in Pakistan. This time I wasn't going to miss Dubai for the world."

Urmila added that she was very glad to see the response that Maine Gandhi… has received at the film festivals.
