Madhavan's returns to tv with Deal Ya No Deal

The chef of Ramji Londonwalle is all set to cook up recipes on the telly. Madhadvan is going to host Deal Ya No Deal on Sony starting this November.

Ace designer Shahid Amir has designed Madhavan's look for the show. "I have given a very comfortable look to Madhavan and its not your steel and glass look like KBC. The idea is to make him look warm, young with a wooden backdrop. Its hang loose, understated, stylish demeanour with linens, kurtas, drawstrings, soft jackets , blazer, white shirt and blue jeans look with a lot of layered and checks look. It's a casual look for him because there will be a lot of interaction with the audience. It's a subtle look keeping in mind the individual star quality and that's were my style as a designer will also come in," says Amir.

In this game show, the contestant faces 22 cash boxes, containing cheques varying from a measly amount to Rs. One crore! Without knowing the content in each box, he picks one, his to keep no matter what. The box stays sealed, as do the 21 remaining ones that are divided amongst other contestants. Nobody knows who's holding the jackpot...and it is here that the excitement begins to build up.

Produced by Miditech in association with Endemol BV, the show format is owned by Endemol. International versions of Deal Or No Deal (as the original version is called)have enjoyed very high viewership worldwide with a successful track record in 43 countries.

The launch of a game show was perhaps next in line for Sony, which has experimented with almost all genres of programming. Moreover, the success of Star's Kaun Banega Crorepati2 (average TRP of 8-9) could have prompted Sony to plan something big. Also, with Paisa Bhari Padega offering substantial dough already, this is the second show for the channel that has big prize money offerings. Even Zee is planning a show called, Kum Ya Jyada to be hosted by Manoj Bajpai.

Initially, with KBC's huge success in 2000, both Zee and Sony had taken a go at game shows with huge prize money. While Zee's Sawaal Dus Crore Ka, with actors Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala as anchors was a damp squib, it had promised a 10 crore as prize money, Sony's Jeeto Chappar Phar Ke with actor Govinda too was thanda compared to KBC. Will Madhavan succeed, where the other stalwarts failed....we surely hope so!

	Mandira Bedi & Shekhar Suman	SaharaOne's Dial One Aur Jeeto, is a first of its kind live interactive show launched with the agenda of pulling in viewers to the channel with a series of questions that audiences can answer and win prizes, including a Maruti Alto, that was the bumper prize that was given away.
	Sajid Khan	Super Sale is the Indian adaptation of an old Fremantle format that originated in Australia titled Sale of the Century.Super Sale is essentially a game show that challenges the contestants to heap up as much moolah as they can, so as to buy attractive items at special 'Super Sale Prices' (SSP) - at the lowest ever conceivable prices.
