SRK Scare at Box Office - An article

This Friday, the public will definitely be spoilt for choice as there are five Hindi films and two English ones which are releasing at the box office. And the guys to be blamed for this are apparently Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
Both the superstars have their films releasing within a fortnight of each other. SRK's Rab Ne Bana De Jodi is releasing on Dec 12, while Aamir's Ghajini is set for December 25. So it seems that the small filmmakers are trying to get their films to release earlier so that they can get some kind of attention. Once SRK and Aamir enter the scene, there will hardly be any room for these movies. But according to a certain section in the trade, it would have been better if they had released their films along with Aamir's or SRK's as they would have benefited from the spillover effect. All the five films set to hit the theatres today, are small films targeted mainly at multiplex audiences. Bit in the aftermath of the Mumbai blasts, there are few people who would be venturing into cinema halls. Malls and multiplexes are seeing a dip in crowds and business. Hence one wonders at the business sense of these filmmakers. They could not have chosen a worse time for releasing their movies. Neither of these films would, even in ordinary circumstances, been expected to do great business, but now the scene appears to be dismal for them. So, yes, there is a lot to choose today, but are there any takers?
