Bollywood couples we want to see once again!

Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan sizzled in every film they worked in but when they spoke of the lena of dils and the dena of dils in the 1979 film Mr Natwarlal's 'Pardesiya', all young people found an echo of the song in their personal lives. The chemistry threatened to burn to cinders the grass they danced on. This was the beginning of an affair that saw them through several films till his accident on the sets of Coolie took it off the front pages of gossip magazines.

Ajay Devgan may not be the handsome hunk of Bollywood but he enjoyed his share of love affairs. Rumours have it that Ajay was in a relationship with Karisma Kapoor since their Jigar days. Both even featured in many films together until Kajol came into the picture. And ever since then, the two were not seen on screen. Recently, Ajay was interested to rope in Karisma for his next directorial venture, but Kajol reprimanded him from doing so.

Many reams of paper have been exhausted on these two and in fact, they still have to field questions about whether they will ever work again. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was sheer magic with she playing a young lady in love and he the brawny hunk whose heart she broke. Many mishaps later, they called off their relationship and vowed never to work together.

Everything was hush-hush in this love affair - from their hook-up to their break-up. The relationship was short-lived. Reason? Well! Parental interference of course! While Amitabh Bachchan doted on Rani, Jaya never felt the same about her. Also their films flopping at the box-office didn't serve the purpose. And hence, the break-up. Whatever it is, everyone liked the two on screen. But it will be wrong to expect them to share screen space again, as wife dearest of Abhi, Ash, has clearly laid out her terms that Abhishek won't work with Rani ever again.

Perhaps the most publicised break-up since Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Obeori, this one came as a shock to most people outside the industry. After all, the two had been seeing each other for the last three-odd years. Though their films 36 China Town and Fida didn't do well at the box-office, they seemed to be much in love. But as soon as they gave their career's first big hit Jab We Met, they parted ways. And if the present scenario is anything to go by, there's little hope that the two would come together for a film.

Karisma Kapoor was publicly declared as the Bachchan bahu at Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday bash. Then before we could say 'Karisma Kapoor-Bachchan' Randhir Kapoor announced to the media that it was all over. It seems mum Jaya Bachchan was not in favour and that was that. But Jaya, it seems, had to tread very carefully because her daughter Shweta is married to Karisma's father Randhir Kapoor's nephew, Nikhil Nanda.

He has rustic charm, she is a glam queen. Priyanka did her first film Andaaz (2003) with him, and though her glam quotient upped later, supposedly they fell in love right then and the affair progressed through the many films they did together and the intimate telephone conversations they shared. Till wife Twinkle tapped her dainty foot and made hubby promise he would not work with her.

They must be the only real life couple who failed to set the screen alive. In Yaadein and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, they were a total disaster and in K3G, Karan Johar's characterisations stood out more than their chemistry. With time both have become much more confident actors than they were at the beginning and chances are that paired together again, they would be compatibility personified.
