A song for Gujarat

What brings 26 Gujarati artists on a platform to the heritage site Adalaj step well? Gujarati pride, of course! Ahmedabad saw 26 artists from various fields from the state come together at Adalaj step well for the shoot of the album Jeetyu Hamesha Gujarat on the lines of the hugely popular
Mile Sur Mera Tumhaara
campaign done two decades back. Award winning ad filmmaker Manish Bhatt who came up with the concept says, "This is a song to unite Gujaratis around the world and to pay a tribute to the state by bringing about a feeling of pride for the achievements of its people. I got the idea of making an album from watching a daayro and hearing the song Kasumbi no Rang by renowned Gujarati writer Zaverchand Meghani. Rewriting the song with a contemporary touch, I have given it a visual remix."
The album also has the collective technical genius of music composer Rajat Dholakia who composed music for the muchacclaimed film Bhavni Bhavai, cinematographer Manish Limaye who has worked with Madhur Bhandarkar in many films including Fashion and Corporate.
The album is all set to hit television channels and multiplex screens by the year end. Having kicked off the shoot from the Little Rann of Kutch, Dasada, Narmada, Tithal and the old city of Ahmedabad, the album will be completed by December 15. While the artists mingled and bonded during the shoot, there was a palpable enthusiasm among the artists about such an endeavour. The group shoot followed by a brief lunch session saw a dance performance by Prachi Desai for the album.
Despite an unfortunate fall from a camel's back while shooting in Kutch, singer Aishwarya Majmudar seemed to be unfazed as she says, "It is a great experience to work with the artists I had only heard about earlier. Despite the fall, I am thrilled to be a part of the project." The album stars a litany of artists from the state like Aishwarya Majmudar, Prachi Desai, Mouli Dave, Tanvi Vyas, Shyamal Munshi, Saumil Munshi, Nidhi Seth, Tripti Arya Vora, Achal Mehta, Abhesinh Rathore, Karsan Sagthiya, Keerthi Sagthiya, Damayantiben, Bharti Kunchale, Biharidan Gadhavi, Neeraj Parikh, Hema Desai, Alaap Desai, Diwaliben Bhil, Ashit Desai, Hari Bharwar, Beejal Desai, Vijay Ghabhawala, Purushottam Upadhyay. Definitely worth Gujarat nu gaurav.
