Episode 378 Update for Monday, Dec 1, 2008:
Megala, Anitha and Anbu eating lunch, Anbu is asking about Megala's dad. Anitha tells him about how Megala grew up away from her family because of her dad, and Megala tries to stop Anitha from discussing all these personal details in public (Anitha doesn't seem to know much about etiquette.) Anbu asks what her dad's name is. Megala says Kalaiarasan, and he asks her if she is still alone. Megala says that now she is living with her family. End of lunch.
Sezhiyan is sitting in the living room and the landlady enters, asking for the rent money. He calls Athai, who goes inside to get the cash. Kavitha comes by and sees Athai counting out the money. Meantime, Athai has a change of heart and decides to make the landlady wait for the cash, so she comes out and spins a yarn about how they have some financial difficulty and so she needs a little more time to get the money. She pretends to ask Sezhiyan for cash, and he says that he doesn't have any, and the landlady leaves after scolding them for making her come repeatedly for the money. She tells them that next month, they had better pay up by the 30th, and leaves. Then Kavitha goes inside, takes out the cash, and comes and shows it to Athai and asks her what is the reason for this drama? Athai says that it is her money and she will decide when to give it, and it is none of Kavitha's business. They argue, Sezhiyan tries to tell Athai to cool it, and Athai tells him to tell Kavitha instead. Athai says that she has been spending all the money so far, including for their wedding, etc., and Kavitha says that she will somehow get the money, even if she has to pawn her head, and throw it at Athai's face, and leaves. Athai tells Sezhiyan that she will get the money from her dad, and sounds pleased about it.
Megala and Anitha in the auto, talking about Anbu. Megala tells Anitha not to feel bad about her stopping the conversation with Anbu when it became too personal, and Anitha says that she didn't realize it had become personal until Megala stopped her. Megala talks about how poor Anbu has suffered, and how her own suffering is nothing compared to that, and so on.
Anbu is watching Kalaiarasan getting beaten up by his henchman, because he won't divulge the names of his family members. Finally Kalaiarasan caves in and says that he has four children, and names Sezhiyan, Sakthi, Kanmani and Keerthana. Anbu is pleased and leaves. The henchman asks him outside why he is so pleased, and Anbu says that he is planning to get married. His future wife's father's name is also Kalaiarasan, that is why he wanted to know if it was the same person. He is happy now that he knows that this person is not his future wife's dad. The henchman tells him to get married quickly, and he says that he must first find out if this girl also wants to marry him, and then he will get married. FREEZE...
