| The recent TV strike may have seen a lot of telly actors holidaying in India and abroad, but actress Gurdip Punjj preferred to chill at home.
"That's because I went to America just before Diwali and after returning back, went to China. I'm done with my travelling for the year," she says. While the America trip was for Navratri, the trip to China happened as her old show Sindoor Tere Naam Ka is quite popular there! "It's been dubbed in Mandrin and is doing very well there," Gurdip says excitedly, "In fact, a lot of people in China recognised me on the streets. We had gone there for the promotion of the show." While the actress is gathering praise there, here too, she has been appreciated for picking up from where Prachi Desai left the serial Kasamh Se. "When I accepted the show, a lot of people told me not to as the show had had a downfall after Prachi left. But my gut instinct said to take it on and I'm very glad that it has paid off," says Gurdip. Playing the lead in a daily is a hectic job and Gurdip doesn't want to take up another show at the moment. "The exclusivity is lost otherwise," she explains. She isn't game for a reality show either. "I hate being judged!" she laughs, "I did have fun in Nach Baliye but only after you do something that you realise if you're cut out for something or not. I guess I'm happier doing fiction." The actress, who has been married to actor Arjun Punjj for almost two years now, isn't ready to extend the family at the moment too. "I would love to have a big family but not in the near future," she says with a smile. | |||||||
