Eijaz Khan: 'Anita is my senior!'
TV star Eijaz Khan who is best known for his roles in Kavyanjali and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka is all set to star opposite Mandira Bedi in Meerabai Not Out. Eijaz Khan chatted with Buzz18.com users about his much reported affair with Anita Hassanandani, working with Mandira and his relationship with Ekta Kapoor.

thank you meena! i'm doing good! about acting, i'm still in the process of learning. so bear with me :-)

according to me, acting is acting! it's understanding my character, working with my director to justify my role. films are just a bigger platform i guess though its television where i learnt

frankly i have started to get nervous. its just started sinking in that ih ave my first release. im quite anxious but more happy

hee asks: So when are u getting married to Anita? And does it not feel weird that she has already had a few movies to her name and this is just the beginning for you?
there is nothing to feel weird about that! when it comes to films she is my senior i guess. i started my innings very late but dont worry i learn fast and i'm getting there
vinay asks: Hi Eijaz how did you move from TV to films? and are you here to stay?
it happened by chance i guess. PNC offered me Meerabai while i was doing television. so i was lucky. since then ive had the good fortune to do another film with them and also do a dharmesh darshan film. so i guess i would want to believe that i am here to stay

as i said its still sinking in. my experience working in the film was amazing. i had the chance to work with senior actors, with a brilliant director and a perfect production house. so i have no complaints! :-)
mreuben asks: so how was your overall experience in meerabai not out... any memorable experience..?
i remember mahesh manjrekar hitting a six on every ball in my over!
sarahrk asks: which was your first serial on television? how/when did you actually enter the television?
my first show was kahiin to hoga. i was playing varun, one of the sweetest characters i have played. lot of my co-artistes had to actually train me so that i wouldnt screw up the scenes. but as i said i learn fast. i still have a lot of fond memories of that show... as for your other question, even television happened by chance. i had gone to meet a friend in balaji, ekta happened to walk out of her cabin, she saw me and she signed me on... as simple as that!
mreuben asks: do you any other movies line up in the future?
yup! i have dharmesh darshan's bhanvra next. it stars shweta salve, sangeeta ghosh and manav gohil with me. this is a romantic thriller and everything you can expect from a Dharmesh Darshan film. my third film would be kiss kiss bang bang. its got a very different cast and an exceptional storyline!
rohit008 asks: were you apprehensive about taking up this project, considering the prime focus of the film would always be on Mandira?
not at all... its really the script that matters. and the rest you'll see in the film :-)

i was lucky because i was tutored by the right people... i really learnt a lot during my KTH days. given a choice i wouldnt have it any other way

its gotta be hrithik! i have seen him work hard and excel

oh! that was years ago i hardly remember anything. but the one thing i wont forget is when i was doing the partner section with aishwarya, i accidentally pulled her ring which cut her finger... i got really worried then!
arvinswamy asks: Hi Eijaz, I really think you are a good actor and would love to watch you on the big screen. What is your take on the ongoing TV strike? Are you still concerned about these issues now that you have moved on to bigger things?
you know something most of my friends on the sets are the technicians, the spot boys etc. im really not aware of the core issues about the strike. but i feel everyone should get their due
yogesh asks: what is your equation with Ekta Kapoor? People say she is a BAD person!
hi yogesh! do you know her on a personal level? i do. she is a professional running a multi-crore production house. one has to be strict when so much is riding on you. i dont think she is a bad person

he was not only my co-actor, but he used to also help me with the scenes. i am really happy for him. i saw aamir and i think its pathbreaking
mandira asks: Eijazji, is your girlfriend ever insecure about you being such a hearthrob? :) I am personally a HUGE fan of yours...
no, none of my girlfriends are! :-) dont worry in a relationship its up to you how you keep your partner secure. and i personally thank you for being a fan

ABSOLUTELY. Mr Kumble has walked off the pitch straight into the big screen! :-)
