O.k......I don't write in this forum. This is probably my first Post since a very long time, apart from the VM's that I post here. But this time something compelled me to write this. It includes the journey of DMG through my eyes and a few observations.
Note That these Observations are my PERSONAL ones and there are no generalizations whatsoever.
I'll make this very brief because I don't want you all to get bored mid-way and press the back button.
Initially I didn't watch DMG, I started watching it from October, or to be more precise, when AR had their first date. And needless to say, I was hooked. DMG was a serial I thought would bring about a change in Indian Television, obviously because of it's fresh approach and special target towards the Youth audience.
As the months passed, DMG became more & more interesting......I didn't miss a single episode, no matter where i was. Then slowly, DMG started declining.........It saw a major decline when the Muskaan-Armaan-Patiala track started, which according to me, was not required.
Then a major blow (To me) came when Shilpa left. Needless to say, I was sad......very sad as a matter of fact, but I decided to give Sukriti a chance. I watched DMG after Sukriti entered for two weeks, trying to accept Sukriti. But I simply couldn't erase Shilpa from my mind, so I decided to stop watching DMG & cherish the KaSh memories. Sukriti has done a wonderful job & and she's a brilliant actress, but I just couldn't identify with her. (That's just me)
Since that day till today, I have observed a few changes in the DMG forum........I couldn't help but pen these down, NO offense it meant to anyone(I mean it)
1) The forum has become one-sided: Earlier(By earlier, I don't mean the time when Shilpa was here, but the months of Jan-Feb etc) when topics like "Has DMG lost it's charm?" were opened, People replied and gave their varied views & different opinions, which also helped me to form my opinion. Now, if such a topic is opened, 80% of the times the only reply that I see is "Stop watching DMG if you don't like it".....That's it. Full Stop......There are no different opinions and the topic is easily pushed back with only 6-7 replies( There may be an exception, but this is what I notice most times). Frankly, It is by-far the most annoying reply I have read.
2) The strong tendency of Sukriti fans to dominate over Shilpa fans (Please for god's sake do not turn this into Shilpa vs Sukriti fight): I have noticed this pattern not only in IF, but on other sites aswell.......I am not raising an objection, but this is just what I have noticed. But now, Thanks to the mods, We have a "Shilpa Discussion Thread", which according to me, has broken this pattern to a great extent. But if we try to make a visual picture of the DMG forum, it would turn out to be like a field where there are two groups of children and one group of children are flocked together in one corner and other group is enjoying huge space.
These are the two major things that I have noticed, It may not be true, but these are just my views.😃
Now, I must say that I'm defenitely looking forward to your comments but I certainly don't want this to become a battlefield. Even if you don't agree with me, let's have a proper discussion......because every coin has a flip side and so does this topic. Varied views are welcome😊.......No offense it meant to anyone.
