‘Kasamh Se for me is like homecoming’ -Article

Mansi Verma returns to serials after one and half years of hosting stage shows abroad with Sonu Nigam. Excerpts from an interview with A. L. CHOUGULE

Q What prompted you to take a call on Kasamh Se which is a three-year-old show?
Well, I started my career with Balaji's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki five years ago and now doing Kasamh Se is like a homecoming for me. Besides, Kasamh Se is a popular show and the character of Pia is quite strong.

Q Pia is a negative character and she has been her sister Bani's rival. Is there any change in the character now?
It was a negative character before but now she has turned positive. But you never what happens after a few months. I haven't had a meeting with the show's creative team to know about the character's future growth.

QHave you been watching the show regularly?
I used to watch it earlier but didn't see it for quite some time. However, now I'm watching it quite regularly and have liked whatever I have seen in recent days.

QIs replacing a popular character a difficult job?
Initially it is not easy as it takes time for a new actor to understand the character. But once you are into it, things become easy.

QIf Balaji is a home for you why did you leave it two and half years ago?
Actually my role in Kahani had become insignificant after the entry of new characters and tracks. So I left the show on an amicable note.
