lot has been written abt asma's singing n manners.

i m from oman myself n can tell u one thing she is not rude for sure. here some of them do know hindi but in the same manner as asma - they spk broken for them tu n tum r the words they address without havin the least idea of a word called aap. there is no offence meant or disrespect. they just get the msg across. if u spk english too a you is a you n not tu, tum or aap.
she seems an excited kid not used to such an exposure n most omanis love hindi movies wheter they understand or not. she must be one of those movie buffs so all starry eyed when she meets so many stars whom she may never even have dreamt to see - let alone at such close qters so fumbles with her lang. whaterver littel she know.s
as for singing - well, little knowldege n she rightly claimed mugging helps
in fact i would give kudos to her for her attempts n doing a good job of it.
tho she may not be of a standard of vaishali, yashita etc. at least as so many others have pointed out - the lang is alien to her n considerign that factor she is ok.
her nasal voice - well, dont u all remember salma agha????? the paki singer.
ofcourse, v all no she wont win - n she too knows it - but dont tear her to bits so much
spkign of besura - well qazi has won so - either it is the judges' choice or people's choice.

Most of us dont have any problems with her Hindi, though I dont get it as to why she has two different accents when she speaks - a corny kiddish one on stage and a clear matured one otherwise?! That's the issue. Plus her drama - if she is aware that she is the weakest singer and doesnt deserve to win, then be humble about it. I also found an article about her, which I had posted yesterday in another thread. I am copying that here.
Take a look at:
In it, it says:
"With so much drama happening, in one of the recent episodes Asma declared that her father had divorced her mother just because Asma's mom didn't want Asma to pursue her singing ambitions any further. "For the sake of music, my father had no choice but to divorce her", she said sobbingly. Perfect. It hit a chord with the audience, and thanks to sympathy wave, her popularity soared instantly.

Now over to Muscat. Our little birdie, who had interviewed Asma in early 2008 takes the "divorce" bit with a pinch of salt. During the interview, Asma, who was then selected for the Middle East edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in Dubai, was accompanied by her enthusiastic mother. Then the mother had quipped how badly she wants Asma to pursue a career in music and she will be a pillar of strength for Asma.

How come the sudden U-turn now? It is no secret that participants and their parents get into publicity gimmicks to secure votes in reality shows. Is Asma's case on such thing? Maybe, why would anyone want to kill a golden goose!"

I do not think she will win but in case she wins I do not mind either. Her voice may not be in sur but does not bother to my ears to listen. Plus I enjoyed her Hindi on the stage. So I say you go girl and win. It is a popularity contest. If Tanmay can win so you(Asma) can too.

asma think if she win this compitition, she will be playback singer in bollywood. it is not easy to be a playback singer in bollywood without knowledge of music. wqithout sur and taal how can she thin she will be lata, asha, sunidhi or shreya. if you are perfect singer, you don't need to do any comedy. you can sing and you will get a chance in bollywood. but but why no one give her chance to sing.that's the proof that no one want ot take a risk for her singing.
