Zinda soundtrack releasing in Pakistan!

For the first time a Bollywood music release happening simultaneously in India and Pakistan. There's a treat in store for Bollywood-music lovers in Pakistan, what with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta releasing the music of his film Zinda simultaneously in India and Pakistan tomorrow, making it the first official Indian album to be released in Pakistan.

Says an excited Gupta, "Zinda will be the first Indian movie to release it's music in India and Pakistan. I think it's a great achievement, because it means taking a step forward in trying to bridge distance between our film industry."

Echoing similar feelings and equally ecstatic is the Pakistan music group Strings, who've sung a number in the film. "It's truly ground-breaking. Bollywood and its music are extremely popular in Pakistan and only Hollywood flicks are considered as foreign. Unfortunately, it was available only through pirated CDs and DVDs.

But this time it's going to be all official and legal," says Faisal Kapadia, lead singer of Strings and a huge Bollywood buff. Guitarist Bilal Maqsood, adds, "Music has been doing its part of bringing the countries together and we are proud to be a part of it."

Adds Gupta; "I hope this paves way for other films as well, as this will definitely be a blow to piracy."
