Manisha in her room rummages through the contents of a bag and whips out the old photo of herself and Baggage. As she's totally absorbed in the photo, in walks Shanthi. Spotting the photo and how Manisha seems to be lamenting her lost love, Shanthi's face changes. She leaves for her own room. Now it's Shanthi's turn to sit on her bed and lament.

Abhi goes to see Daddy in jail, with Sreeni in tow. After a mournful reunion, Paapa expresses distress at seeing Daddy in this state. SKPD then says in hushed tones that he has a good case for recovering his property, now that the police are less angry with him. He asks Paapa to file for an appeal. He says he wants to redeem his property as his intention is to treat Paapa like a maharani for as long as he lives. He also wants Paapa to leave Charu's house and return to his house soon. Sreeni promises that he will see to that happening soon.

A tired ACS returns home from an out-of-town mission. Wife Kokila brings him the rental advance received for the second property that was bought in her name. Upon learning that the four co-tenants are young bachelors, ACS is concerned. He says the typical profile of a terrorist is 20-25 years. That is an impressionable age where men can be easily influenced and would be raring to do tough deeds. Kokila brings him the passport and other documentary evidence of bona fides that she has collected. ACS tells her to hold on to the papers. He says that as a policeman he should be extra careful in these matters.

Madhan comes looking for Maanga and vents his anger at Abhi for asking for accounts of the Trust. Maanga, as usual, says it is Abhi's right to ask for such accounting. Madhan says it is all part of Abhi's grand scheme to get rid of everyone involved in her Mother's business so that she has sole control. He points out that Abhi had first gotten rid of Priya, then he (Madhan) himself, and now she was gunning for RK. Madhan says the family is concerned that Maanga might be again humiliated by Abhi. Finally, Maanga assures Madhan that he will think over the matter carefully when Charu returns and come to a good decision.

Sreeni is driving Abhi back from jail and wonders to himself why Abhi is keeping mum. He thinks she is reflecting on what Daddyo had said and fears that he would stand to lose if Abhi returned to SKPD's fold. He asks Abhi whether she was thinking about returning to SKPD's home eventually. Abhi says she hasn't decided. Sreeni then dispenses his advice. He says that SKPD can never hope to live the way he had before as all his old business contracts, e.g., the harbour and quarry contracts, had been carved up by his former employees. SKPD can only survive on what he had amassed thus far. He adds that Abhi's future would be brighter as Charu's daughter than as SKPD's daughter and she shouldn't do anything to jeopardize her current position. As it is already, she will have to account to her Mom for her visit to SKPD in jail. He suggests that Abhi stay put where she is and he will handle SKPD's legal suit. Abhi agrees that that is the best course. She wants Sreeni to handle all matters involving Daddy. Sreeni is beside himself with joy. He says to himself that, given the trust SKPD has in him, the property that he redeems for him will eventually land in his own hands.

Atthai phones Shanthi's home. Baggage hesitatingly picks up the phone and makes polite enquiries. Atthai informs that Mama is unwell and says it would be good if Baggage, Shanthi and Indhu could visit him and offer comfort. She adds that there is also a temple vow in Shanthi's name to be executed and it would be good if Shanthi could be personally present for that ritual. Baggage reluctantly agrees and hangs up. Then he frets over how to reveal the news to Shanthi. Just then Indhu walks in, followed closely by Shanthi. Baggage informs Indhu that Mama is ill and that he, she and Shanthi will have to visit him. Freeze on Shanthi's shocked expression.
